Violet Paladin's last message

The last message from Violet Paladin, a Faceless One, to Vagabond, sent some time after the Extinction, short before Vagabond returned from his disappearance.

Vagabond was climbing through the rubble. He didn't know where to go since the world has changed so much. It has been only a few days since he woke up and ever since, his PDA showed that he had an unread message. He tried to ignore it, expecting the worst.
Violet Paladin, read the name on the message. The name of the leader of his last team and one of his friends. Someone he could talk with about his worries and problems. And now he watched as the same name glared at him.
"Well, there's no reason to delay it," he told himself as his finger pressed on the text. As soon as he did, he regretted it, thoughts of all the possible ways he could be shouted at.
"Hello, █████ Vagabond", what he heard instead, was the gentle voice of the Violet Paladin broken by a short white noise when his color was mentioned. Why couldn't he hear it?
"It's been a while since we last talked. Knowing you, you're still alive somewhere out there, and if not, I'm just talking to myself. As you have probably already seen, everything went wrong. The Curtain is completely gone, so watch out for all of the Spirits and don't provoke them. There are those giant towers everywhere, they mark the territories of the Lords, so watch out not to walk into one of them. There is one advantage to all of this when it comes to us. The concentration of the spiritual energy in the air is so high, we don't have to eat anymore. Don't look for the rest of us, most have been Warped, while the rest of us decided to split up. The levels of the Familiarity started to drop a lot outside the city, so it might be the last chance for us to leave and visit the places we're from.
P.S. I'm attaching a map to this message. It'll lead you to a small village I helped for some time. They'll still need a lot of help, so check if they are still there and help them if you can. I hope you'll be able to find something to do. See ya."
That was it. Paladin's last message. It both did and didn't include much. It didn't make Vagabond feel better. He almost expected to get chewed out, maybe even hoped he would for the thing he did.
He picked up his stuff and he quickly wrote a reply to his old friend.
"I'm here. I hope you're still out there. Good luck!"

The map

The map attached to the letter leads to The Refuge, a settlement hidden underneath the surface of the streets, down in the sewers. Paladin helped the people of the settlement find that hideout and he taught them a few things about surviving in the modern world. He was also the one who made protective talismans that protect the village from any spirit-based threats.
