Onidoshi
The Onidoshi are an unusual sapient, Humanoid species, originally from an unknown plane, who lived in cooperation with the the Kelpeater Empire in the First Age of Waking Materia. Physically imposing but quiet and thoughtful, they called themselves Logírn, which simply meant "The People". No records of this people exist on Materia past the Deluge.
Favoured classes of Onidoshi include fighters, paladins/greyguards/blackguards, rangers, artificers and inquisitors.Physiology

The Logírn were tall, broad-shouldered and lanky, with digitigrade legs and faces that were somewhere between lizardlike and leonine. They were born with hair in their youth, though the hair would cohere and harden into large "plates" about their heads and shoulders. The colour of these scales ranged from brown and copper, medium to dark in shade. Males and females were largely identical in physiology, but female scales were more openly splayed while male scales lied flat. Females still gave birth, therefore possessing standard (though minor) humanoid female features.
Some regarded the species as reptilian and even dragon-blooded, though both are false and any resemblences were coincidental.Society
Despite their large and fearsome physiology, Onidoshi are a generally a calm and unflappable people. They have analytical minds, with a fondness for symmetry, geometry and patterns. They have a particular reputation for building and architecture, and are also fond of musical composition. Nonetheless they are as diverse in attitude as most sentient species, and there are plenty amongst them who use their towering physique for nefarious pursuits.History
The Onidoshi do not remember their origins or home plane. Attempts to probe their ancestral memory are met with such stubborn blankness that scholars assumed something supernatural was involved, though few theories were accurate. In actual fact, they are a sort of 'fallen celestial', long ago memory-wiped and disconnected from their home plane by an evil god of tragedy and cruel poetry. Many say drive to build is an inborn quest to build a bridge home, unknown even to them. Other scholars argue the destination is more a metaphorical one: what the amnesiac onidoshi hoped to build is a sense of self, such that wherever they were could be home.On Waking Materia
The Logírn were already in partnership with the Qufit when the two species encountered the Lorganite Diaspora. The two species had a famous and close partnership; Onidoshi did not regard it as embarrassing to carry their land-awkward, canopy-based allies in harnesses atop their shoulders, and the Qufit's grasp of the markets helped bankroll many famous Onidoshi construction projects. These projects may be the source of magnificent but otherwise mysterious structures such as the Diadem in the Gondaran province of Tolereum.
As for their modern absence on Materia, conventional theories posit they were largely wiped out and went extinct or genetically subsumed from there, or perhaps the Qufit took them along when they fled the plane. Perhaps they even found their way home.
