Falkor'atru

Falkor'atru, the first Dragon Knight of Tallarax.
Falkor'atru, "The Wise" and sometimes "The First", was a Rozsan mortal eldritch knight and possible ascendant demigod who was chosen to lead the newly-christened Dragon Knights of Tallarax by the order's God-Commander Tallarax-Apsasu. Prior to this assignment by the mysterious Sphinx God, Falkor'atru was an estranged bodhisattva of Uhrmazd and itinerant soothsayer, and prior to this he was known to live a life as a soldier, possibly a nobleman, within New Rozsan society.

Fate

The First would not survive his one and only mission: to help Tallarax-Apsasu protect the plane from the draconic armies of "God-Eater" Otrinax, however his death helped ensure the defenders' eventual victory. Assuming the canons of his ascension are true, this would place him in the pantheon of Departed Gods. There is no known activity from him in the Duskscape, or on other planes.

Possible Divinity

The First was known to be an exceptional combatant who struck onlookers with a sense of awe. At the height of the Dragon Wars, he was an extremely popular figure in most societies, and his rare appearances before the public would draw crowds from hundreds of kilometres. It is not unreasonable that the Collective Will granted him some level of divinity prior to his death.

Modern Worship

Falkor'Atru is mostly a figure within the Uhrmazdian and Tallaraxian canons, though he is rarely worshipped on his own as a sort of divine exemplar of bravery and heroism. Within churches of Uhrmazd he can be polarizing: there is significant debate about how "fallen" a bodhisattva he was upon selection to lead the Dragon Knights, which lead to sometimes bitter schisms. Within the Tallaraxian churches there is near-universal agreement he was chosen wisely, as the Shifting Mandala always did.

What a fascinating life this man lived, even before he was chosen for his final task. I love the disagreements about his 'fall' causing schisms too.

More to come on his history I expect, this is just a taste. I appreciate your comments very much Emy!

Okay, I had to look up bodhisattva and read everything twice to understand it, but it was worth it. I guess he was still proud of the fate that was put on him, although it’s a bit sad.

I'm hoping to expand on that history soon, but the life of an Uhrmazdian bodhisattva is one of simplicity and meditation, very much a different life than a Rozsan soldier would have lived. Though he was an immensely talented fighter, it is clear he abandoned that role for a time. But ultimately yes, Tallari gave him a chance to use his exceptional skills for good rather than for the whims of a necrocratic empire.
