Tanglegrove Fort

For the Dameskans

Fort Ingress was constructed as a foot hold in Eleaseth. It was during a time in the war, 30 years prior to the current date, when the Dameskans were conducting regular raids of the Eleaseth plains, farms, and communal gardens. They used it as a resupply and rest stop for their cavalry. The Breach - the forested area in the center of the Divine Dispute that acts like a large pass through the mountains - is the main point of entry for the Dameskans into Eleaseth. So they built Fort Ingress just past the forest line, on the western side of a nearby river.

For the Eleaseth & The Wilds

Fort Ingress, now Tanglegrove, became a place to conquor and overcome. It represented the Dameskan heart of the invasion force. They believed if they could take over the Fort they could choke out any remaining raiders and hold back any more advances into the country proper.

It was the Wild Matron Stepenna that eventually led the Eleaseth people to take over the Fort and invariably secure the interior of the country.

Architecture

Ingress

Dameskan architecture is very unique. Smooth stone and red cloth are prominent in their decor and Fort Ingress was no exception. Though the Fort was simple by Dameskan construction standards, with high exterior walls, a barracks, stable, and support staff house, it was still well made so as to withstand seige. They were given enough time to properly construct the Fort and finish.

Ingress lacked many of the creature comforts found in many wealthy Dameskan cities, but it neat, orderly, and well maintained. As any would expect of a Dameskan military installment. Red banners trimmed in gold thread, embroidered with the longsword of Phrixus hung from the outter walls.

Tanglegrove

Eleaseth architectural style, at least in the interior of the country, is almost the polar opposite to the Dameskan cut, clean style. When the Eleaseth Wilds took over, they set about repurposing and redesigning the Fort to reflect their take over. High, smooth stoned walls were broken up as moss and vines grew through them, ceilings were splintered and fell as large trees grew up through them. The red banners were burned and, in their place, plants took over. Even the stone was reshaped into something more natural in places. The fort became utterly unrecognizable as the Dameskan landmark it had once been, shaped into something the Wilds were far more comfortable in.
