Races of Vynari

There are a myriad of Species on Vynari spread amongst many cultures so much so that they are organised by Genus, by their broad overall characteristics rather then by individual ones, focusing more on their specific characteristics then by Race which determines their colourations and their more subtle distinctions which are often affected by the environment of their origins. Species are often able to cross breed within their own genus, but some are able to breed with another genus creating half-breeds, who often suffer from lower fertility and are only able to breed with an identical type of half-breed or progenitor species.
The sentient 'Races' are separate from creatures by the definition of their level of sentience. Though some may have a diminished or lower intelligence, and some perhaps even more primal instincts, they are still a race if they have an awareness of feelings and sensation as well as an intelligence complex enough to process and communicate them.

There are some traits that can apply to all races and are often passed down to the following generation, these are;
Giantism - A person who is twice their races average height
Dwarfism - A person who is half their races average height
Demonism - A Person who is afflicted with various forms of Mana corruption
Numorism - A Person who acts as host for a Numori Symbiote

Each Genus is separated into four categories;
Surface - Races that tend to originate and develop on the surface
Aquatic - Races that tend to originate and develop in the ocean or large bodies of water
Underdweller - Races that tend to originate and develop underground
Beast - A being with generally creature like characteristics but somehow have Sapient qualities and intelligence.
