SM3 - Lights Out
General Summary
The Phoenix Five returned to Celonar and recovered some of the memories they'd forgotten.
The Oldtown Gazette
From a local broadsheet, Louis learned that after the Goblin Riot of 3173, what remained of the Goblin slum was magically rebuilt into Mint End, which is now populated mostly by merchant-class refugees of the Phoenix War. The rebuilding effort was costly, so the city auctioned off the new housing to cover the cost, making previous residents who couldn't afford the higher price homeless. Celonar has also seen a lot of crime and Tacaran Independence demonstrations in the last month. The last major piece of new is that Phoenix War has slowed down significantly in the last two months, with the siege of Holannun being the largest ongoing conflict.Old Acquintainces
After arriving at the Scriosta, the party's first stop in the city was Fortha's general store. They instead found Meloch, her son and a former member of the Celonar Adventurer's Guild. Meloch asked them if they needed any help, and Tikvah lost consciousness, falling into an unusual trance. He relived the night he saved Fortha from a magical ailment that blackened her eyes and skin and nearly killer her. When he awoke, Tikvah and the rest of the party learned that Fortha is still alive, though she is bedridden and requires constant treatment to stay alive. The party bought some healing potions and left.Grapevine HQ
Their next stop was the headquarters of The Grapevine, Tana's blackmail scheme/spy ring. The party talked with Five-More-Silvers Joe, who recently moved to Celonar after things got "dangerous" for him in Ramanthas. He complained of racial discrimination due to the Goblin Riot, which he seemed to blame the city's Goblins for as much as the racists. Afterward, Sandy lounged on a couch while the rest of the party headed upstairs to speak with Az Boldfinger, the manager of The Grapevine and ad-hoc secretary of the The Phoenix Six. When he asked Tana where she'd been, she passed out.The Riot
Tana flashed back to about a week ago in the middle of an argument with Az. He didn't want her to go to Erek due to an existing adventuring contract. Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of breaking glass. A crowd had assembled outside, complaining of criminals acting out in the opening and harboring Goblins. They were unconvinced by the party's efforts to negotiate with or intimidate them and carried out a quick, highly organized attack that caused a lot of property damage but little harm to anyone inside. The party captured or killed most of the people involved in the attack.<< Time Warp | Lights Out | What's the Rub? >>
