SM1+SM2 - Time Warp

General Summary

The party woke up in a strange, icy temple and fought a dragon. After defeating him and partying with some locals, they returned to Celonar.

Waking Up

Tikvah woke up to find himself and the rest of The Phoenix Six in an ancient, icy temple. Above them, an ancient white dragon attempted to enter the room. At the center of this chamber, there was a black statue of a robed figure that was crumbled above the torso. After Tikvah woke up the rest of the party, everyone retreated to a rear room to escape the dragon. The rear room contained a black metal gong with strange symbols etched into it. It also contained pedestals with gaps in the frost where the feet of statues recently sat.

Dragonslaying

The dragon didn't give the party a chance to negotiate, accusing them of trying to steal his treasure as he unleashed his opening salvo. Thanks to Sandy's speed and a well-timed combo from other members of the party, the dragon was quickly reduced to a weakened state and attempted to negotiate. When he did, the party learned that "black figures" fled the mountain before the dragon arrived, though he was too far away to make out any details about them. They also learned they were in the tundra of Erek, not too far from a small hunting village. The party refused the dragon's offer of half of his treasure to leave and killed him as he tried to escape. When he fell, he destroyed the black statue at the center of the chamber.

Communication

The party convened after the fight to try to figure out where they were with little success. The last place everyone remembered being was Celonar, but they couldn't recall how long ago that was. They also sensed that there were further unknown gaps in their memories. Tikvah connected with a higher power to attempt to glean more information. They learned that The WandererThe Anchored, and others from the Shadowfell were present relatively soon before they woke up. They also found out that the party's memories were intentionally and maliciously removed. Afterward, Tikvah shared that their body is inhabited by multiple consciousnesses and that whatever knocked their memories out appears to have rendered one of them dormant.

Gatherer-Hunters

After they took an hour to rest and attempt to extract the dragon's treasure from the ice, the same locals the dragon mentioned appeared on top of the temple's roof. After a tense but brief negotiation, the party invited these newcomers to help them extract the treasure in return for all the dragon's meat and a small portion of the dragon's treasure. The locals offered their help in escaping the tundra in return for more treasure, but Louis had teleportation magic that rendered this obsolete. Still, the party came with the hunters to their village to celebrate the death of the dragon. They joined a bonfire party, during which Tikvah learned about local culture and most of the rest of the party got wasted on fermented pine tea. After resting over night, the party teleported to Celonar.

    Secondary Location
You’re woken by the deep sound of cracking ice. You find yourself on your back staring up at the sun, which shines through a thick sheet of ice in a crumbled section of the dark, domed stone ceiling 60 feet above you. On the other side, a gargantuan, bright-colored figure moves, its exact shape obscured by the warped light shimmering through the ice.
