Tacaran Independence Movement

The Tacaran independence movement is a social movement in Southern and Central Cirithas that has been drumming up support for the independence of the Underkingdom of Tacaras since late 3173 AK. Their motivations for supporting independence are multifaceted. Culturally, Tacarans are primarily Wood Elves while the rest of Cirithas is populated by High Elves. In terms of the war, thousands of Tacarans have fought and died in the war despite their territory being spared from invasion. Their territory being intact has led to a significant tax load which High King Lalfelwen Uiretarion has justified necessary for the security of all of Cirithas. Many Tacarans believe they would be safer and more prosperous if they declared independence in Cirithas' current moment of weakness.
