Voxorian
This is a order classification under the class of Mammal. This group arose around 40 million years ago. The Voxorian are incredibly adapt at the use of sound magic. Through specialized magic glands located within their diaphragms and at the base of their fingers they can let out powerful blasts of sound that can knock down trees. Typically using loud howls and strong sound waves for various purposes. Including attacking foes, defensive barriers, mimicing sounds, enhancing strength, self propulsion, and even the advent of language. This group of mammals is covered in body hair, are known of primarily arboreal lifestyle but some have transitioned to living on the forest floor, they also possess large brains. This sound magic has also specialized in a multitude of different species to have very specific function. The most famous of which is the Kaivorin, which are characterized by their bipedalism, hairlessness, high intelligence, and specialized magic use.
The largest species of Voxorian commonly referred to as Ground Shakers can grow up to 30 feet tall. These white hair creatures are known for a specialized form of mobility known as knucklewalking, they have grown far too large to live within the trees but use the sweet inner bark of trees as their main food source. They often reside in small groups of no more than six individuals. Their powerful sound magic can flatten a whole grove of trees in a single shout but is incredibly draining for them. They are known to be quite docile unless provoked but a single thumb on their chest can easily rip the skin off of a persons entire body. They reside deep in the dense jungle. Their consumption of massive trees clears room for smaller plants and animals to take root where light would normally not reach giving areas of clearing in the dense jungles of Frostlat. Their movement through the jungles can be felt from miles away.
Sky Screechers, this small bodied Voxorian uses their light bodies and vocal magic to launch themselves across large distances. They focus much of their sound magic into one spot launching themselves as high as 150 feet in the air. They can direct this blast in many directions allowing them to soar across the sky and propel themselves between trees. These Voxorians often leave bore holes in trees made by their loud shout aswell in the ground which many creatures use as shelter. They are often killed as pests if found in cities as they are highly destructive to city architecture. Their throat sacks are often inflated and used as a toy given their durability and translucence. These Voxorian are typically no more than 1 foot tall, though groups of more than 100 can live together in matriarchies.
A species of Sky Screechers referred to as Sand Swirlers live on mesa cliffsides and dig intricate tunnel systems through them several hundred feet off the ground. They are referred to by their name given the small sand tornados they leave behind when launching into the arid air.
People have been known to tame Sand Swirlers given their small size and brightly colored hair.
There are a diverse array of Voxorian which live primarily near the equator of Vina-Frostlat.
A subgroup of Voxorian possess prehensile tails this the group distinct from those mentioned above and contains the Nightsiren.
