Felignia
The Felignis are a order of mammals particularly under the grouping of carnivora which specializes in fire magic. These powerful carnivores use fire in a multitude of ways in the adaptation of their environment.
Scorin - These Felignis live in large hierarchical groups in the savannah and grasslands of Vina-Frostlat. They have glands along the base of their head and located on their tongues which produce high amount of heat and ignite into flame. They typically use the glands located around their head as a show of dominance or intimidation when facing foes or when competing for a mate. These group ambush predators will use the flames on their heads to ignite sections of the grasslands to scare out prey which use it to hide, using unburned sections as cover. They often cover themselves in ash and hide within it to take down prey reentering the area after a clearing. This burning helps fertilize the ground aswell as activates the seed pods of the local grasses which only open in extreme heat. Scorin are known to sear their food prior to eating with their heat glands located on their tongues.
Loxous (Lox) - This group of Felignis have be domesticated as very close companions of Kaivirin. They were used for protection in the early days of the species to scare off other predators but also helped given their innate ability to produce fire. They have since those early days been selectively breed into many different shapes and sizes. They are probably one of the most diverse single species on the planet. They can range from more distant solitary protectors, energetic companions, fire bellowing helpers, and everything in-between. They are also breed for different competitions from races, acrobatics, beauty shows, and many more. They are believed to have been domesticated around 50,000 years ago from its more fearsome counterparts.
