Canympha
Canympha are a order of mammals from the group of carnivora which specializes in water magic. Often seen as the counterpart to Felignis. These hardy carnivores use water in many ways primarily adapted from life in the shallow waters of lakes, swamps, marshes, and river beds. Although some have become more adapted to swimming and taken on a semiaquatic lifestyle.
Caninympha has diversified into a few different form mostly adapted for land but very fast swimming in the water. They are known for webbed feet and thick slick fur covered in a mucus which allows it to swim in cold and warm waters alike. They have fairly dexterous hands capable of grasping small shelled creatures and cracking them open to eat.
A species of Canympha known as Canympha domesticus (Nymphs) were domesticated around 10,000 years ago by Kaivorin who lived in the flood plains of river bands. They were used to help irrigate crops as well as in sea navigation being able to change the direction of water flow. Most sailor will keep atleast one Nymph on their ship for faster and safer navigation across treacherous waters. Nymphs primarily eat smaller mammals and Sealife. Given their social groups they more easily bonded with Kaivorin.
