King Hanley the Foreseer

King Hanley the Forseer was the King of Landren from 1641 to 1671 SE. As his nickname suggests, King Hanley is known for his many predictions and visions for Landren's future. He claimed to have spoken directly with the authors of The Eulogy in dreams and visions. Many of these predictions actually came true, lending credibility to his claims of divinity.

History

Early Life

Hanley Piere Martin was born in 1603 to Prince Margot Havier Martin. He is self admitted to have had little interest in his studdies as a child. Despite being directly in line for the Landren throne, he often snuck out of his palace in Maywall during his late adolescence and early adulthood. During these excursions, he experimented with mind altering drugs, particularly psychodelic tea imported from Alnuk.   Hanley's father was first in line to the Landren throne, but died in 1626 of natural causes. Hanley ascended to the throne in 1641 when his grandfather, King Gaston of Maywall, died of old age.

Predictions

On the 26th of Olvar, 1662, King Hanley's prophecies were collected into a single work titled The Seawall Eye, which laid out many predictions that have since come true, including the existence of the Enclave of the Free Peoples, the rise of Keth, and the end of the War of the Gates. The book is believed to have been written by one of Hanley's stewards who recorded all of his predictions over the entire period of his reign up to that point.

The War of the Gates

In 1654 SE, Hanley entered an alliance with the Estarian Regency to participate in the civil conflict in Estaria known as the War of the Gates.
