Donna Caedus
Wild Child of Whiteridge
Donna Caedus was born in 1288, the youngest child of House Caedus, and was the only girl born to the legendary Aurelius Caedus. She was raised to one day be a Noble Lady, to be married off to some Noble to secure her families power, though she never wanted to be. She was said to be an independent tomboy, and she even desired to be a Knight growing up, as opposed to a Lady. However, her dreams were often cast aside by her family, as she was destined from birth to fulfill her role of nobility. As she grew older, she was said to be as beautiful as she was free-spirited, and her family received many marriage requests from high ranking nobility across the land. She hated the role she was given and was constantly in defiance of her parents because of this. Her father and mother constantly had issues with her, as they tried to force her to be a proper lady. She got on well with her two brothers, especially Atticus, a fellow free-spirit, who encouraged her to find her own path. She was also close with her brother Cassius, but Cassius took after their father, so he was always encouraging her to simply find a way to live with her assigned role. In the end, she chose a much more unconventional path, but one she was ultimately happy with, though it would cost much more than she would have imagined.Defiance and Exile
One summer, when Donna was only fifteen, a group of Elves from Allysium came to Whiteridge to discuss a potential alliance between House Caedus and the Elven family of Nobles House Moonspell. The patriarch of the Elven House, Sylran Moonspell, decided to bring his fourteen-year-old son along with him, a boy named Lannion Moonspell. Despite the hostility between elves and men, Donna and Lannion became friends very quickly, and though his family left Whiteridge around a month after they arrived, they came to Whiteridge once more the following year to renew the terms of the alliance, and then again, the following year. Throughout all of these visits, the two became very close, and unbeknownst to either family, began to court in secret. Lannion would volunteer for any excuse to go to Whiteridge, and the two eventually married in secret when Donna was nineteen, and Lannion was eighteen. The only person to attend this secret ceremony was Atticus Caedus, the only one who the couple dared to share this secret with, and he never told a soul that he was there. The following year, in 1308, Donna became pregnant, which caused many issues. She had put off marrying a noble for years, creating excuses each time, and keeping her marriage secret. But with a child on the way, she had to tell her family something. She decided to announce to her family that she was married to an elf, and with child, during a feast following the anniversary of their houses alliance, which Lannion and his family were attending. When she announced this, the room went quiet, until her father stood up and stormed out, followed by the rest of his family. Adelpha left the room almost as soon as her husband did, without looking at Donna, though there were tears in her eyes. Atticus left soon after, appearing to be downtrodden. Cassius was the last to leave, and he gave Donna a disappointed and saddened look as he left. Lannion had arranged for Donna to live with him in Allysium, as he had expected this would happen. However, as Donna went to her room that night to sleep in Whiteridge Castle one last time, she found that the door was locked. She was soon told by a servant that she was no longer welcome in Whiteridge, and she must take her husband's surname, as she was no longer considered part of the family. She then departed for Allysium, to start her new life there.Relationships
History
Though they used to be very close growing up, when Donna married an elf Cassius lost almost all respect he had for her. Donna was seen as an outcast for her decision, and was exiled and cut off from the family, with Donna never seeing Cassius again after her family found out about the marriage.
History
Donna and Atticus were always the best of freinds, and he was the first person she told about her secret marriage, which he decided to accept her for. He didn't tell the rest of the family, and when she was exiled and cut off, he would visit her in secret. He put on an act of disliking her to preserve his reputation, but Atticus and Donna were always on good terms.
