Basic Information

Anatomy

Warrior Desert Kyorei wield 6 limbs in total, their wings included. They can grow up to 4'8-5'5"ft tall from head to toe with a 18-23ft in wingspan. Spirituals only have four physical limbs.   These Kyorei also possess a multitude of small spikes on their heads, jaws, shoulders, or wings between individuals. This includes the 4 spikes on either forelimb and the 4-5 on their hind region on both sides.   As a result, they have also gained extra tail spikes on their tail, making them quite an opponent to face off against.

Biological Traits

Each Kyorei develops a black tinted coloration at the end of their ears. Said coloration slowly descends down the ear as they age before coming to a slow halt at Adulthood it is at this point, any Koruga past 90 years gains a new grey tint beginning just at the tip of their ears.   Desert Kyorei wield the elements of Fire and Electricity, though some individuals have shown to wield the powers of Earth or Force rather than Fire. Within their bodies is an extra sac that connected to the windpipe that is filled with a flammable gas. With a quick enough release force combined with the static between a Kyorei's fangs, the gas is quick to ignite.   Within their nervous system lie electrical sacs that release over 105,000 volts of electricity when squeezed. And that's just individually. This is why a Kyorei 'sparks' when upset or tense. Their muscles are only just barely squeezing the electrical sacs, but they're just sensitive enough to be set off. Unlike most of their cousins, these Kyorei also have more scales upon their bodies and webbed wings. Their scales mainly occupy their forelimbs, lower legs, the end of their tail, and their wings.

Genetics and Reproduction

Kyorei typically will reproduce like most other terrestrial creatures.   After mating, a Female will likely hold either one or two pups for as long as a year. This period of gestation leaves her most vulnerable as it leaves her much more sluggish and heavier than usual. It also leaves her feeling much more irritable often, making it hard for team compatibility should she try to work with one despite her condition.

Growth Rate & Stages

Kyorei grow fairly quickly the time they are a Pup until Adulthood. Their eyes open the moment they are born and they are able to stand within 3 to 5 days. Within 6 to 8 days they are capable of early galloping and trotting.

Ecology and Habitats

Their villages reside either underground, in caverns, or under large looming geodes. Some of these looming geodes are not formed naturally as some desert Korugas with the ability of Earth magic create them large enough to cast a shadow for when it is hot in the day.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Desert Kyorei have grown a more meat driven diet due to a lack of fruits in this region. The only fruit that ever appears only happens so often and grows on cacti.   On the subject of food, certain resources are needed to maintain their fire breath and electrical element. Fuel for fire can be as simple as the usual fruit and meats they may consume. Said sustenance creates natural gas in their bodies over time that gets stored in a chamber, or "sack", within their throats that can then be excreted and then ignited. Electricity comes from magnetic ore they consume after crushing it into a powder or eating the freshly mined chunks.   Unlike their cousins, Desert Kyorei are more solitary hunters. Very rarely will they pair up in large groups. If they do hunt in groups, it will most likely be of two or three.

Biological Cycle

Within the Igneus Desert, seasonal change hardly matters. Autumn/Winter time here only barely wavers the heat in this region, meaning these Kyorei never really shed when the season turns over. This sadly makes night ventures during these seasons treacherous, and all harvests must be made either during the day or during the Summer and Spring time.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Desert Kyorei are not the most social out of their cousins. Some may form cliques to chat amongst themselves, but otherwise, outward friendliness is often short and brief.

Facial characteristics

Between Males and Females, Males may grow more of a beard-like feature as they age. Whether it is the same color as their pelt or their mane differs between genetics.

Desert Kyorei are short, yet bulky. Unfortunately, this does not make them the most flexible nor agile, but what they cannot make up in agility they make up in strength.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Desert Kyorei have adopted Brown to Tan-ish shades of fur color. Few take on the darker grey or white fur colors. Markings of Desert Korugas may appear gradient, or perhaps splotchy in terms of 'socks' or 'paint splatter spots'.
