Annoying bright house paint house

Definitely not a personal rant, I swear

I had to bust out the crayons for this one. I hope you're proud of yourselves.
You know to this day I have no idea what compells someone to pick some horrifically bright colour to paint their house with. I mean do you deliberately want people to be blinded whilst they're walking down the street on a sunny day? I can't count how many times I've just been strolling about and then I catch some ugly house in my peripheral.
These kinds of houses can be found dotted around Vertinall, but they don't really belong to a culture of any kind. They just... Exist, right? I mean there can't be any justifiable reason for someone to make their house this colour can there?

So APPARENTLY there is a secret to the reason behind these houses. The people that own them? They're a cult. (I knew they were weird.)
The Cult of Mild Irritations exist for a single purpose; To make the lives of people around them ^slightly worse. You know when you walk into a shop and all the aisles have been re-arranged? that's them. Those groups of people that walk side by side on the path at a super slow speed so you can't quite get past them without speaking up? Them. They are completely responsible for that feeling in the back of your mind that the universe is out to get you.
I feel like I should be shocked or surprised but honestly it explains so much. It's so obvious now!

What does this have to do with the paint

It's got EVERYTHING to do with the paint! I hate looking at those houses, I sure as hell can't be the only one. It's like camouflage; You'll be annoyed at a house with a super bright colour, but it's not like you're gonna knock on the door and tell them about it, are you? You want nothing to do with this house, so you AVOID it. You simultaneously put regular people off coming near your house and tip cultists off that you're part of the circle. IT'S ALL CONNECTED, MAN.
