The Moonspire Sanctum
Temple of Prophecy and Divine Moonlight
The Moonspire Sanctum is the spiritual apex of Oakvein—a dreamwoven temple dedicated to Sehanine Moonbow, goddess of mystery, death, dreams, and moonlit revelation. Formed from a fused column of living crystal and shaped through moonblessing, it serves as both temple and divinatory chamber for Clan Enlanefel’s seers and spirit-guides.
While others craft spells and shape the physical world, the Moonspire communes with the unseen—visions, omens, and whispered truths that drift between dreams and prophecy. At its heart sits Faeluneth, most revered among the Loremasters, called the Star-Veiled Oracle.
History and Lore
The Moonspire rose from Oakvein's crown centuries ago during a triple lunar alignment. Faeluneth Larethil, then a young priestess, received a vision from Sehanine Moonbow instructing her to water the highest branch of Oakvein with blessed moonwater each night for a full year.
On the final night, the branch crystalized and unfurled into the spire seen today—a living sanctum attuned to moon phases and planar tides. It is not only a temple, but a conduit to the Moonarch of Sehanine, a metaphysical gate that grants select elves divine dreams, reincarnative insight, and true sight.
The Spire also serves as a transition chamber—a place where dying elves journey in ritual before their spirits walk to Arvandor.
Role and Function in Oakvein
- Prophecy & Guidance
Faeluneth conducts moonfasting rites and visions for the Council and clan elders. Her prophecies are rarely direct—often given in image, metaphor, or dream. - Divine Rites & Soul Passage
The Moonspire is where elves are prepared for death, reincarnation, or spirit-binding. The rites of Echoing Release, Soulweave, and Moonveil Transcendence are unique to this hall. - Dream Scrying & Vision Circles
Seers may dream beneath the Starbowl to divine future threads or seek truths hidden from the waking world.
Key Features and Spaces
✦ The Starbowl
A moon-shaped basin of silver glass that shows not water, but a reflection of the sky over Arvandor. Used for divination.
✦ The Whispering Dome
The crystal ceiling plays back echo-visions during prophecy rituals. Stars move in patterns that only the seers can decipher.
✦ The Veiled Path
A narrow bridge of woven silverleaf vines stretching into the open air. Those who walk it in trance may touch the Moonarch in spirit.
✦ The Owl Alcoves
Pale owls—both mundane and magical—roost here and carry messages to the fey realms or between temples of Sehanine.
Activities and Religious Life
- Moonfast Rites (Monthly): Fasting, trance-sleep, and communion with Sehanine during the full moon
- Veilbinding Ceremonies: Protective blessings placed over dreamers, infants, and soulbound items
- Public Vision Reading (Seasonal): Faeluneth offers cryptic readings to the clan under the full eclipse or solstice moons
Cultural and Political Relevance
Though Faeluneth seldom engages directly in council politics, her visions often guide consensus or reframe ongoing debates. Many Loremasters defer to her foresight during times of uncertainty. Some suspect she already knows the end of any decision before it begins.
In matters of death, legacy, and spiritual warning, no hall commands more reverence.
