The Red Stone Arena
Located in the Bloodrop District of Arrapha, this is the premier arena in the city. It is common for some sort of fighting to occur every week in the arena, and for holidays or at the whims of noble families, tournaments are usually held.
Purpose / Function
To host tournaments and fights between the houses of Arrapha as well as to help the houses train for The Arena of the Five.
Architecture
Surrounding the arena are two fifty foot statues of dragons with fire spewing out of their mouths above the battleground. Columns of pale red stone reach thirty feet into the sky. Painted in bright colours on the columns are the noble dragons whose families rule Arrapha. An iron ring rests atop them and metal sculptures of battles rise from it. Surrounding the arena is stands carved from the local stone surrounding Arrapha. While most of the stands are simple stone benches, there is a section meant for the nobles; it has multi-coloured silk streams above it, partially blocking the sun's harsh rays from their persons. There is also a permanent cooling spell on the area, keeping the nobles refreshed as they enjoy the bloodshed. The arena itself is flat and covered in dirt though it is a darker colour than the dirt found outside of the arena.
History
The arena was built by the Eshaedra and Albioris houses when the Nomarch of Arrapha was one of the Eshaedra family. To this day, the Eshaedras gain revenue from the betting and the Albioris gain revenue from the concessions at the arena. They split the proceeds of admission between themselves.
