Personal history
Erxine was a street urchin for most of her life. She scraped by with what she could, until one day she found herself pressed into military service. She took poorly to the regimented lifestyle and suffered many a punishment for failing to obey orders. However, none could say she was a poor fighter. She took to the sword and shield like a natural and through her service was granted a distinction amongst the ranks. This would eventually prove to be her downfall as her record in service brought her to the attention of the queen for an assignment to slay a dragon.
She would go with Frederick Hammerstrike to slay the infamous Terror of the Mountains, Vearxindaron , and in doing so would sacrifice her life to protect the others against the dragon's breath.
She was given the surname Flameshield posthumously as well as an honorary title of Knight. The Flameshield Institute would go on to forever bear her name as its own, a testament to her prowess, endurance, and courage.
