Session 11 Report

General Summary

After sleeping the night on their way to Hindarskjall, the party continued on to find a cart with a cage on it standing by the wayside. The two arguing people by it turned out to be working for the Jarl of Hindarskjall, that were in charge of transporting a Hippogriff to the Jarl's famed menagerie. The beast managed to break free from its cage and took one of the horses as a snack during its escape. The party agreed to help out these travelers and managed to successfully get the Hippogriff back alive to the cart, upon which they were able to continue on their journey together.   By the crossroads, a day's travel from the city, the group spotted a band of six warriors approaching the intersection. They approached them, upon which the warriors, which were in service of The Duke, tried to shake down Yerin. They managed to intimidate them thoroughly enough so they wouldn't bother.   However, in a twist no one saw coming, the party started shooting arrows in the band of warrior's backs as they were walking off. This resulted in a fight in which they managed to capture one of them alive for interrogation. They were indeed a part of the warriors that came to Jaervor with the Duke to conquer Rannalla. They now used that position to gather "taxes" from travelers they met on the roads. The party finished of their captive, and propped the warriors up by the wayside as a message to their employers. They signed this message using the terrifying name: Das Clubhaus.   The rest of the journey was fairly uneventful. The party came across a lumberyard, upon which Halford, the carriage driver, commented it seemed rather devoid of life. The party moved on to arrive at the city before nightfall. There they were greeted with a series of carts and travelers coming into the city in droves. All geared up for the festival. They were quickly let through the gates with their connection to Halford and Ingwild and moved towards the Hall of Stags, the seat of the local ruler.   Upon arrival, the Jarl and a small retinue of guards stepped outside to greet them and the Jarl's new pet Hippogriff. The Jarl appeared to be rather thankful to the party and invited them over for dinner on the following days. The party was also invited to come and visit the menagerie and the library.   The party and the lord had a brief discussion about the Harvest Festival and other goings-on in the town, such as the Lumberyard that appeared to be out of commission, a few hours outside of town. The Jarl referred the party to Glessin, the owner of the yard. The Party was also referred to Elhandra, a local medicine woman.
