Leaving the Neiwilde
General Summary
Vica and Reilynn set off together from the Good Sister's Orchard. While heading out of the forest the group encountered Timk, the sprite Reilynn had recently saved from the Fey trappers. Timk had rejoined his sprite troop, led by Red, and they were following a group of humans travelling through the forest and attempting to get them to leave. Timk had previously attempted to poison the travelers food, causing one of the humans to lose control of his bowels. Reilynn asked the sprites if she could talk with the human group and see what they were about and if they would leave. Red and Timk agreed. Reilynn confronted the group, talking to Mathius Truebolt, a scholar from The Vivaldi College of the Arcane, Arts, and Sciences who was studying The Neiwilde Forest and trying to map it out unsuccessfully. Reilynn agreed to lead Mathius and his party to Neipoint for a small sum. Upon arriving at Neipoint Mathius began a discussion with Arcanist Viserel. Reilynn and Vica continued on, travelling on a barge over the river and heading north. On their journey the group encountered a cockratice nipping at a tipped over cart and heard cries for help coming from underneath. They killed the cockratice and discovered that a travelling merchant had come across it. He paid them for saving his life and headed off. When Reilynn and Vica arrived in Newton they first decided to try and get a gemstone they were given by the merchant into currency. They stopped at a local branch of The Goldentree Banking Guild and started accounts in return for the full value of the gem. After splitting their payment they decided to talk to Sheriff Zeke Withers sharing that Poldrik was involved in illegal Fey smuggling. Zeke agreed to look into and talk to Poldrik but said he was currently busy with a conflict with a local group from The Wapanaka Tribe. After talking with Zeke they headed to Dale's tavern where they tried to find some more information on Poldrik. Dale let them know that he heard rumor of Poldrik being involved in shady dealings with the local owner of the riverboat casino, a foreign man from New Baelon named Vicar Bedford. The group was surprised to find that Poldrik wasn't the person in charge of the capture of the Fey, but merely a cog in a much larger conspiracy.
