Newton
An upstart town in the Melbry Ranch. Arthur Melbry a young inventor designed a bridge to span the long tributary into the Deluga and even designed a pump system to move water from the nearby river into a water tower and bathhouse of his own design. The town quickly got a large amount of wealthy visitors and a tourney ground and racetrack were built to profit off of the new visitors. Newton expanded the size of the Melbry Ranch and became a great boom town putting the ranch on the map within Philagantri.
Demographics
Newton is made up primarily of 95% human ranch hands. Around 5% of the ranch hands are of other races, mostly dwarves and halflings.
Government
A mayor and sheriff watch over the town and surrounding area. Collecting the fruits of the residents labor and dividing it among the ranch workers. They also take any profits and forward it on to the Melbry Estate.
Industry & Trade
A new bustling casino has been created in Newton, which greatly benefits the town and The Melbry Family Ranchers as a whole. A large bathhouse and fancy Inn also bring in outsiders who enjoy watching the towns tourneys and races.
Infrastructure
Impressive feats of engineering have been completed in this small town. The Newton Bridge and the Melbry Pump station are both great feats that allow the town to exist and be as prosperous as it is.
Assets
The pump station that pulls water from the nearby river is the towns most valuable asset. A casino also provides the casino great income.
Guilds and Factions
Newton has the only bank branch of The Goldentree Banking Guild and the only branch of The Bogdan Messenger's Guild within the Melbry Ranch.
History
Newton has a short history. Being constructed recently after the completion of the Newton Bridge.
Tourism
Many travelers come to visit the bath house witness the impressive pump station and watch the local tourneys and races. A casino was constructed early on in the towns history which also boosted tourism.
