Thorsin Brighteye
Description
At a glance, Thorsin might not seem much: he is young and small, with little marks from duels. But taking a closer look, one can't help but to notice his eyes. They can pierce into one's soul, leaving no secret hidden. Zeal burns within them, and can be felt in all of his actions. He wear simple clothes, and always carries a symbol of Katisan with him.
History
Thorsin hatched during his parents’ pilgrimage to the lake of Order. He was bathed in the holy waters of the lake, being blessed by the forces of Order from the very beginning of his life. Although he has no memory of this event, it steadfastly set the course of his future. After their pilgrimage was complete, Thorsin's family returned to Protector's Vale, where their farm was.
Many necrites had fled to and through Protector's Vale after the disastrous loss of the Tunnel War, and priests were common among those who stayed. The priests taught the refugees basic skills like reading, writing, and counting. They also shared heroic tales of legendary Necrites with the townspeople, trying to boost their morale after all they have lost. Thorsin was enthralled by legends of the priests, particularly by religious tales and the war against the arachs and their Chaos goddess, Arachnida.
But later, he learned about more recent history: of the Tunnel War, and the founding of the Theocracy of the Wurm. Now that he was a religious man, he had a revelation: the Necrites of old had fought with other members of the Royal Hexagon against Chaos, but when the Theocracy of the Wurm had risen, the previous tyrant had ignored it and attacked their fellow worshippers. The current state of the Detrinian Empire was the direct result of them abandoning their god, Katisan. The Empire could not heal until it had atoned for its sins.
Thorsin began preaching his revelation, first only to his family, and later to his entire village. When he began to manifest divine power, his hometown’s priest understood that Thorsin's words carried much weight, and took him to Stalwart, where his words would have much greater reach.
Thorsin didn't turn any leader of necrites, or of Aciaroma, to an open war against the Theocracy, but he amassed plenty of followers. He could inspire hope in people with his words alone. At some point, he realized that nobody else would lead Detrin to salvation: he would have to be the one to do it. He challenged the leaders of Protector's Vale to submit to him - or to fight to remain independent. None of them resisted.
Present
Thorsin now inspires the people of Protector’s Vale to prepare for a crusade against the Theocracy and their dark god. However, his interests also extend outside the Vale. He has written many letters to the queen of Aciaroma, Brighid I, urging her to give more freedoms to the churches of Katisan, as the necrites still in Aciaroma need to receive salvation as well. Furthermore, Thorsin publicly condemned the Spawn of the Wurm as the greatest threat to the known world. While his pleas to the queen have fallen on deaf ears, the Spawn of the Wurm has taken notice of Thorsin’s crusade.
Thorsin believes that any necrite with a pure heart yearns for a just crusade against the darkness of Chaos. He'll have no trouble pulling the followers from other aspirants - and even the aspirants themselves are not immune to the call of their blood. And if they want to duel, like one could expect, he has the martial skill to back his status, and that is not accounting for his divine guidance! And no necrite with an impure heart is fit to become a tyrant.
