The Order Pantheon is a revered collection of six deities with a substantial following across
Alvandis. They are said to be the creations of the Radiant One. Their primordial creator tasked the gods with overseeing
Alvandis and guiding its mortal denizens during
the Radiant Cocoon's dormancy. The Order Pantheon is the principal religious belief in Western
Varzzen, officially adopted as the state religion by key nations such as
Auroma,
Cavana, Detrin, and Cor Quae'thum.
Born from Order
The Order Pantheon's deities were brought into existence by the Radiant One during the Age of Creation. Setting them apart from the chaos-born gods, the Order Deities are inherently powerful, their strength unfazed by the number of worshippers or the intensity of their faith. They have the unique ability to mold Chaos, mirroring their creator's capabilities.
Divine Figures
Radiant Cocoon:
The Radiant Cocoon, formerly known as the Radiant One and revered as the father of creation and mother of the Order Pantheon, embodies principles of law, order, creation, and light. Depicted as a shimmering silk cocoon emitting an ethereal glow, it sits in the center of
the Luminous Tapestry, anchoring the cosmos against Chaos. While it has few direct worshippers, its symbolism permeates the worship of the Order Pantheon. The Cocoon's followers, including righteous paladins and clerics, uphold its divine commandments, ensuring the integrity of the Luminous Tapestry until the Radiant One's return.
Aurius:
Aurius, also known as the Skyfather and the Noble Breeze, is a pillar of honor, justice, and nobility. He is the father of the vespoid race and is depicted as a regal Vespoid clad in golden armor wielding a spear and shield. He commands the winds and protects the world of Alvandis from his divine realm of Aerolitha. His appearance exudes majesty, with a gleaming gold exoskeleton and shimmering translucent wings evoking the force of storms or the serenity of a gentle breeze. Aurius receives the highest reverence from the people of Auroma, including the Zenith
vespoids, his chosen people.
Chitas:
Chitas, revered as the Architect and the First Queen, embodies the principles of community, craftsmanship, and industry. As the creator of the
Formicoids, she symbolizes strength, cooperation, and perseverance. Depicted as a formidable formicoid with a body of polished black stone, diamond eyes, and golden mandibles, she wears a simple craftsman's apron and wields a simple hammer that serves as her primary symbol. The formicoids of
Cavana believe that they will join Chitas in her realm, the Perfect Nest, where they will help her build the perfect structure.
Gnol-Dotera:
Gnol-Dotera, the Weaver of Words, stands as a guiding light within the Order Pantheon, revered for her dominion over knowledge, exploration, and the tranquility of the night. She is depicted as an ethereal
luni adorned with parchment wings, holding a shining lantern and an ancient tome. Her symbol, a quill resembling a moth's wing, signifies the sacred act of recording knowledge. She created the luni, granting them a thirst for knowledge and guiding their souls to Bibliotheca Aeternum upon their passing.
Katisan:
Katisan, known as "The Jaw," embodies the principles of war, ambition, and strength. Depicted as a powerful necrite clad in battle-worn armor, wielding his imposing jaws as formidable weapons, he commands respect and submission. His symbol, the Jaws of Katisan holding a crown, represents his gift to the
necrites and signifies the pursuit of power and authority. Katisan urges his followers to challenge weak rulers, submit to the strong, seek self-improvement without deceit, and prioritize family protection. He created the necrites with ambition and strength, appointing a champion to unite them into
the Detrinian Empire.
Mairun:
Mairun of the Countless Masks, revered as the Broken Jester and the Keeper of Festivals, embodies diverse aspects, including creativity, emotion, and travel. They created the
beetlefolk, a race as colorful as the deity. Initially associated with the joyous spirit of festivals and the carefree nature of the beetlefolk, Mairun underwent a transformation following the death of Zaqātu. Shattered by grief, they remade themselves into a deity capable of adapting to the needs of their people, wearing masks representing different roles. Adorned with various expressions and colors, these masks symbolize the diverse emotions experienced by mortals and Mairun's ability to embrace other aspects of their personality.
Zaqātu:
Zaqātu, known as the Guardian of the Threshold and the Sovereign of the Final Sunset, was once revered for his dominion over death, justice, the sun, and fate. He is depicted as a colossal
scion adorned with obsidian chitin, illuminated by veins of radiant light, and crowned with a fiery stinger. His divine symbol, the balanced scales of justice formed by twin scorpion tails, adorned the revered Gate of Death, where souls passed into the afterlife. Zaqātu's commandments emphasized fairness, kindness, and acceptance of the inevitable passage of time. Once worshipped fervently by the scion people of Taḫūmu, his influence waned after his demise, yet his essence lingers in the rituals of elders and the whispers of the sands, guiding lost spirits on their eternal journey.
