Aurius Character in Varzzen | World Anvil

Aurius

Aurius, often revered as the Skyfather, is one of the six Order Deities of the Order Pantheon. He is said to have created the vespoids and holds a prominent place in their beliefs. He holds dominion over the winds and breezes of Alvandis, protecting the world from above. He is associated with courage, righteousness, a symbol of grace, nobility, and divine protection.

Appearance

Aurius is depicted as a majestic vespoid of grand proportions. His exoskeleton shines in gleaming gold, with onyx stripes as dark as the stormy sky striking through his form. His multifaceted eyes glisten with the clarity of an unclouded horizon. From his back extend two mighty wings, shimmering and translucent, infused with the golden glow of dawn. They are not mere appendages but tempestuous wonders: with every flutter, they evoke the force of mighty hurricanes or the serenity of a soft breeze. His form is graced with a mane woven from luminous threads that glisten like sunlit strands in the heart of a midday beam. Wrapped in resplendent golden armor and wielding his formidable spear, this valiant knight embodies the very essence of honor.

Symbols

His primary symbol is a golden hornet in majestic flight. Radiating from the hornet's back are six lightning bolts, each symbolizing the power, fury, and unpredictability of nature's storms and the six prime deities of the Order Pantheon.

Myth

Aurius birthed the vespoids from his divine essence, gifting them wings from his stormy essence to soar the skies. Yet, seeing their fragility amidst the vastness of the world, the noble knight whispered ancient windborne secrets to them: the art of navigating tempests, understanding the breezes, and dancing between raindrops. This divine intervention transformed the vespoids into masters of the sky.
