Jadesend River
Geography
Located on the western boarder of Woestijn the river once marked the end of the Shifting Sands. Its clear waters, sourced from the loch and mountain, have become muddied with stirred up silt from traffic.
Ecosystem Cycles
In the spring, water is released at the dam into the original bed in an attempt to control flooding down stream. The resulting wave of freshwater giving the Great Salt Marsh a boost of vitality.
During the winter Ice forms up stream in the mountains. Members of the Ice Guild will harvest it in teams using insulated barges to get their product to the population.
History
The Old River
Once the eastern border of Hrost, Avisloe would use the river as a source of fresh water and fish. The delta at the mouth of the river providing an abundance of wildlife to hunt. During this time the floods each cycle kept both sides of the river covered with thick vegetation gaining its name as the last green place before the desert.
The region suffered attacks from the northeast during the confict, Hrost's enemies taking advantage of the sea and river to move supplies to their outposts.
A Changed River
After the fall of Hrost, Urbs took control of the territory. Years of war in the area left old battlefields with high populations of Fthorskotos particularly along the river and sea. Lacking adequate defences against the creatures, a number of workers suffered deadly encounters leading to a demand for safety. These fears fueled a massive effort to redirect the river towards the city as an ore trade route and farming resource.
Starting in the spring of 923 R.C. crews were sent out to begin the digging for the proposed canal. The dam was finally completed in late summer 933 R.C.
The original riverbed is slowly vanishing as the dunes continue to move. A lack of water led to forest dying off especially on the eastern bank. The low lying mouth still fills with the oceans tides forming the great salt marsh.

Hope your internet gets better soon! Is already a nice start with a good looking map but still a bit short. Btw you could put your notice on top in an "aloud" box perhaps as to not confuse it with the main article. Or you can put it in the author notes :)
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for the future. I can delete the message now, they just finished installation today and now I have all this week to add to it.
