Si-ríame

Si-ríame is an aphrodisiac potion meant to stimulate procreation in couples by inducing an obsessive lust onto the drinker.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The victim must succeed on a DC 18 CON saving throw or fall into a heedless lust towards the one intended for d3 hours. If it is just one drink, every time the intended does anything harmful to the victim, they can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. Otherwise, the effect lingers 24 hours.   At the end of the effect and for every time the victim drinks a dose:
  1. the ground around them is treated as difficult terrain
  2. has disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws
  3. movement speed is halved
  4. -10 penalty to anyone aiming to discern the victim's thoughts or emotions
  5. take -3 to all Bluff, Disguise, Gather Information, Handle Animal and Performance skill checks
  6. Those within 5ft, trying to speak to the victim must succeed a DC 10 CHA saving throw or have disadvantage on all rolls for 1 minute
  7. Victims must make a DC 11 Medicine check every day to avoid a permanent -1 loss that alternatives between INT, WIS or CHA

Significance

It feels... It feels... I can feel myself losing myself. Can you image that? I know I'm going mad. I can feel it. But I can't.... I can't...
— testimony of K’oha’an, mother to Yax-Tuun
Originally, both man and woman would partake in a marriage ceremony where they drink the concoction in front a crowd of their friends and family; and are whisked away for bedding. Throughout records, both partners report great satisfaction and an eagerness to drink it again.   In the past, there was such a demand for it that it was eventually decreed to restrict its consumption as a noble's privilege. Its effect is also amplified when brewed and drunk under a hexis.
Given its widen spread acceptance and unreport side effects; it has to be asked: did it change or did we?
Kerleez, when perusing marriage records
At some time after; the doctrine shifted to only requiring women to drink, after a series of sudden symptoms began plaguing warriors on the battlefield. The three-headed priests, to this day, claim that this was how it was always intended. The growing contention and controversy has made it a semi-political symbol for the Quinametli hardliners.
