The Members Of The Staff
Hidden away from the outside distractions of the world, in a remote valley in the eastern Drakeseat Mountains, the reclusive arcane order known as The Members Of The Staff have made their home.
The group is built around the study of the fragments of an ancient magical staff; purportedly a powerful arcane artefact from the days of the Age of Arcane Might. Vowing to unlock the secrets of the artefact, to the exclusion of all other avenues of study, the group operates from an isolated purpose-built tower, close to the village of Smallfell - Staveholm Tower.
Their needs are met by a dedicated cadre of loyal retainers and servants, who maintain Staveholm Tower and ensure that the group is not disturbed. These servants are indeed so dedicated to their purpose that they have not thought to question why none of them has seen or heard from a single member of the order in nearly a century, ever since the group sealed themselves in conclave at the top of the tower with strict instructions that they were not to be disturbed for any reason. Generations of these servants dilligently go about their duties day after day, ensuring that Staveholm Tower is kept in pristine condition. The fact that their masters are no longer a factor in this seems not to bother them.
Structure
The Members of the Staff have a relatively flat organisational structure. Its members take turns to act as a leader, voted on by the other Members, and this leader takes the initiative on the research of the artefact which will be focussed on.
Assets
Aside from the ancient arcane relic to which they have dedicated themselve to study, the order's main asset is their compound in the eastern Drakeseat Mountains, Staveholm Tower.
