Empire of Godsfall

Nearly a Millennia ago the Empire rose up around Rubi'Sarha which was little more than a fort on the Silverstream. At it's dawn there was powerful mage the could shape the world to his will, Valdifitz Emis, who rose large stone platforms upon which the Ruby palace would be built. There weren't many trained soldiers just people trying to eek out a living on the fringes of humanity. What with human spiting Elves in the far east, and orc and gnolls that hunt across the savanna. These people just needed someplace to live. At this time the Mines at Mountvine still produced mithril which was leveraged by Julianor Denmart, first Ruby Empress of the Empire of Godsfall.
Soon wayward people began to flock to this majestic site. With the help of Valdifitz the region just east of the river began to have bounteous harvest, however this also lead to increased raids from wild orcs and gnolls. Eventually the Adventurer's Lodge was founded as a measure to protect these small farming towns. It worked well and eventually the influence of the capitol grew, but still most of the coastal towns remained outside of her control. Julianor had a single daughter, Renoa. Julianor passed away at the age of 72, her death was followed by a massive earthquake that destroyed the Bridge from Oldfort to the East. Vildifitz's last act as court mage was to raise a new bridge just outside the walls of the city, he disappeared without a trace afterward.
Renoa served out her days expanding control of the empire. During her time the control of the empire finally reached the sea. No one contested the desert so it naturally fell under her control. After a small set of skirmishes with the Elven Kingdom of Loth Andros a cease fire was signed and the Empire of Godsfall nor the Elven Kingdom of Loth Andros would settle land between the Black Hills and the Forest of Loth Andros. After settling affairs abroad construction of the Ruby palace began. Renoa gave birth again to a single daughter, Vinfrey. Her eventual death was also accompanied by an earthquake that utterly ruined the country for many years to follow. Thankfully mithril still flowed from the Mountvine and they were able to recover.
Vinfrey Denmart has ruled this empire since her ascension just more than 800 years ago. Many attribute her long life to favors from the gods and that the empire itself is a gift given them from the Pantheon of the Nine. The final territories of the Empire of Godsfall were acquired within several years of her taking the throne. The passages of the Elder Road were mapped and a route found through them to Llyn Niwl, and Water's Edge was established. Because of the dangers found within the Kilimenga Expanse further growth into the Jungle was halted. Next was the sheltered town of Lamsara which lay well hid in the jungle adjacent to the Haji Mountains. The druids of Lamsara keep it well hidden and actively lure people away from ever finding it, which is why up until Vinfrey personally visited it was not subsumed by the neighboring country.
Her reign being so long was no doubt to experience turmoil. First some beast rose up in from the mines in Mountvine closing them and killing hundreds of Dwarves. While relief was quick at hand there was little hope in ever reclaiming this valuable mine. Fortunately exports of wine and other fineries helped to soften the blow of losing the mines. Next was the 1st Galmere War which claimed many lives, numerous coastal villages and towns, and multiple attempts on Vinfrey's life. During this time a special branch of Ruby Empress guard was formed, the Golden Fangs.
