Order of Erudition
The Order of Erudition is the triumvirate faith between the Church of Sibyll, Faith of Avandra, and the Uvtan Church. Those who worship these three deities in tandem are those who seek knowledge and wisdom to the furthest end they can, all while adhering to the moral values of Sibyll, Avandra, and Uvta.
Divine Origins
The Order of Erudition was founded by Ceridwen Dancamort in CY 1506 at the Avena Monastery in her desire to unite the knowledge-seeking faiths in one sect. However, she quickly realized that she was far too entrenched in the culture of the Avenians to provide the Order with the attention it needed.
Ceridwen would then hand the rains off to a disciple of Sibyll in CY 1509, who moved to the Chaelen city of Illustria soon after achieving her doctoral degree. It was there that the Order settled in their Prodigal Guildhouse - a structure built for the sole purpose of honing the mind and discovering new aspects to reality.
Cosmological Views
Although the Order of Erudition recognizes the three deities as distinct figures, they combine their tenets into one holy book. Their iteration of Genesis is an amalgamation of not only their own pantheon, but that of the entire cosmology. Erudition scholars have exegeted all twelve major iterations of the original story (and several minor ideations) to such a degree, they have come to the conclusion that their assembly of the myth is the most accurate to the first iteration of creation. The original document has since been moved to the Library of the Sun on the Isle of Eldin.
Tenets of Faith
Knowledge. To seek knowledge is the most vital trait of a member to possess, regardless of the knowledge it may be. Historical, arcane, religious, scientific - the pursuit of knowledge supersedes all else.
Adventure. Adventure begets experience, and experience begets knowledge.
Wisdom. Though all who seek knowledge are welcome here, one must possess common sense in the face of danger to seek knowledge in the Order's name. Rash decision-making leads to poor results on all levels.
Ethics. All must understand the Erudite Code of Ethics to partake in research for the Order, as to ensure all collected data is of the highest quality.
Political Influence & Intrigue
The Order of Erudition is sponsored by the Illustria government, as the city is predominantly High Elf. Thus, the city's elves watch research and creations of the Order ceaselessly - as they have the time to truly understand the information passed along by the Order. Of course, the general Illustrian population will not undertake the research themselves, as High Elves consider themselves 'above' the dirty work of adventure.
