Sibyll

Lawful Good/Neutral, Uthilithian conception of magic.   Though Sibyll isn't one of the foundational deities of Uthilith in the way conceptions of virtue - fate or truth - are, she's extraordinarily important in her own right. She's the only mortal who has successfully ascended to a position of godhood without being corrupted in the way individuals like The Erlkönig were, as she was the first ever empress of Tempora. Astrid ruled with a just temperament, invoking her core ideal that all should be able to access and wield magic so should they choose. Thus, she's the primary reason that Uthilith is such a high magic setting, especially as of the current year (CY 1679) in which the colonial empires who suppress the education of other continents have mostly dissolved.   Astrid Ermendrud, the granddaughter of Bren Aldric Ermendrud, transcended from her original plane following a second Great Calamity with two companions. She sought to carry on her now-deceased grandfather's name through creating a civilization free from strife and danger, and that initial dynasty was one of wealth and prosperity. She passed in CY 140 of old age, and the gods who had existed at that point deemed her a viable candidate for the goddess of sorcery.   Very few individuals know Sibyll's true name; no mention of her ascension can be found in historical texts. Knowledge of her identity is limited primarily to adventuring parties with a strong resume, high ranking members of the Order of Erudition, and major world leaders.   Sibyll's primary place of worship is the Avena Monastery in the central area of Iacchus Argentum, where students of magic and monks alike congregate to hone their skills in partial reverence to the Goddess.
