Effect

L'escalier du diable is a Grand Ritual that requires the convergence of four significant artifacts to take place. Its purpose is to break any barrier - mortal, divine, arcane, or aberrant - and create a safe passage of entry into the location beyond.

The arcane power of the convergent artifacts was more than enough to create the power that would generate this spell - an extremely viscous toxin, a gauntlet with the power to level a countryside, a dark grimoire, and an eye that reveals all - but it generally helps to have a focus to ensure that the spell does not go haywire. In the only instance it was cast, it was cast through a Valen Bloodstone Circle.
