The Hedge
Acres of hedge maze overseen by an unknown archfey. Those who go in rarely come out.
He was struggling to remember where he was. Struggling to remember who he was. Wandering the twisting passages of the hedge seemed to have lasted his entire life. The natural denizens seemed friendly. Some seemed to know who he was.
The Hedge is a fey domain infamous for being almost impossible to navigate. It has strong links to the Plane of Maze and is difficult to know where the two planes intersect. It shifts and changes constantly, confounding any hope at mapping. It is almost entirely inhabited by either lost travellers or surprisingly content fey. There are a few settlements built into the twisting passageways, the largest is Home At The Centre Of The Maze, which is populated by those who have given up trying to leave.
Geography
From the outside, The Hedge appears to be spread out over several square miles of rolling hills. Like many fey domains, it is substantially larger within its boundaries.
While a geometric impossibility, The Eldest Tree appears as though it is the centre point of the maze to those within.
Fauna & Flora
The Hedge is predominantly made up of its namesake: natural hedges in twisting patterns. A wide variety of plants make up these barriers, many of them thorny and just about all of them green. Larger trees mark major corners and endpoints to the paths, their branches spreading over the pathways. Open sections bloom with multicoloured wildflowers. Most infamously, recurrants thrive within the region.
Many conventional forest animals make their home in The Hedge where they can survive within the vegetation, living off the fruits and seeds that grow there. Fey creatures abound - including treants, dryads and pixies - and acclimatise perfectly, unlike non-native beings who tend to get endlessly lost.
Tourism
An unconventional travel destination, The Hedge still tempts eccentric fey creatures with the premise of "getting lost for a while". Intrepid adventurers hope to find great riches or a valuable treasure at the centre, but outside of vague rumours, it is unclear what actually exists within the centre.
