Ur, The Nexus City

At the center of the ley line web is the first city, Ur, a trade hub and centre of power in the multiverse.   The city belongs to The Shrouded Queen and her Rooks, but for the past three years they have been imprissoned within a magical shell in the city's heart. Even before their imprissonment the Council of the Orders, with representatives from the city's great factions, passed laws and saw them enforced from their seat in the Order Halls.   Most of the city's wealth changes hands in Fate's Bazaar, and ends up lining the High Masks' pockets, while the criminal Knights of the Road and anarchic Athenaeum Fraternity hide out in The Nest slums.   As well as a large market, Ur has a renowned university, the Clock Tower, as well as hosting many embassies from powers of the Astral Realms, Aetheric Realms and the Mælstrom.
