Xutosi

The Force of Endings; The Bride of Cidon, Queen of the Gods

And when the world formed, and daylight came in by the will of Cidon, too also came night. For as he is the beginning, Xutosi, his beloved, is the Force of endings and rest. And so, by her will and understanding of the vision of Solun, so too came the night, and also the stars and the moon in the sky above them, that the children of Solun will never be without his guiding light.

Creations 2:2

The wife of Cidon and the Force of Endings, Xutosi has naturally slid into the role of the mother of mortality. Such a comparison is not without merit, she is the Goddess of the Night and as such is the last one most mortals pray to before resting and the Force that cares for them through the evening and into the morning.

Divine Domains

Xutosi is the Goddess of endings and her creations are the Night, Moon and Stars. Like her husband Cidon, who's influence includes all things happening in the day, Xutosi's influence covers everything that happens in the night making her the second most influential of the Forces of Creation. Most of her followers are people active during the night. Night Watchmen, Prostitutes, Lamp lighters and innkeepers.

All things night fall within her domain, and since most mortals are sleeping during this time Xutosi has become affiliated with dreams and the dreamworld as well. Children pray to her at night for good dreams, sages and clerics make offerings to her at private shrines in hopes of seeking her company in their dreams to learn about the greater mysteries of the Multiverse. Dreams are also the primary medium by which Xutosi speaks to her followers and champions.

Like Cidon, Xutosi has very few cities dedicated to her, but nearly every city has a temple erected in her honor and priests offer nightly prayers for the safety of the city and it's inhabitants. Indeed you could that that every city is dedicated to her at night.

Tenets of Faith

As Xutosi is the Force of Endings and the creator of the night, she is often venerated in those circumstances where a great work, adventure or other occupation has come to an end. Likewise priests of Xutosi spend each night holding services in temples dedicated to her and make offerings to her to protect the city during the night and provide the night watch with her support to keep the darkness of the night at bay.

Temples to Xutosi have no windows and are shrouded in darkness except for small holes in the ceiling through which light shines and mimics the stars of the night sky. During actual night priests of Xutosi use spells to create artificial light to maintain consistency. Most priests of Xutosi are women, though men are not prohibited it simply isn't common.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Xutosi is a powerful female entity, and as such much of her goals align behind women. This is not to say her goals are the fair or equal treatment of women, quite the opposite exactly. Much of her time is spent helping women reach their full potential and helping others recognize the value of women and their role in society. Xutosi embodies the idea that women and men were not created equally and that women have a divine role in the eternal plan which includes nurturing, protecting and enlightening mortality. Xutosi also teaches that women have a stronger spiritual connection than men, and that this connection is the key to redeeming all life in Unorrea and the realm itself.

Xutosi, like most of the other Forces, tries to increase her own influence where she can. This is constantly seen in the struggle between herself and her husband throughout the year as the daylight decreases and the night increases only for the effects to reverse. Xutosi supports all those who choose to work in the night versus the day, and she opposes all who use the night to perform nefarious deeds. She is particularly supportive of hospitality workers who provide warm beds to bring others to her realm of dreams.
