High Elves
High elves are what most people think of when they think of elves. Slightly shorter on average than Humans, High Elves have sharply pointed ears, fairer skin and usually light colored hair ranging from light brunette to platinum, almost white, blonde. Their eye colors too vary wildly from traditional eye colors like brown, green and blue to more exotic colors like gray and purple.
Basic Information
Biological Traits
High Elves differ from other elves in three primary ways. First they have a better affinity for magic than other elf sub species; second they always have fairer skin tone than other elves which is almost always a pale white, but occasionally olive, but never darker. They are usually comparable heights with humans, but on average slightly shorter. Their hair color is always brighter than that of other elves as well, often being a shade of blond, but can be as dark as a very light brunette.
Civilization and Culture
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Culturally High Elves, within Elven culture, are considered a better bread species and closer to the gods than other elves. For that reason they are the ruling class of the elves and generally fill aristocratic roles in elven society.
History
High Elves came about through genetic evolution to be a more pure bred member of elvendom. Genetically closer to their fey brethren upon which elves were based during the Age of Creation, High Elves have long since served as a kind of ruling class in elven culture.
