Common (Bridger)

Spoken almost exclusively in the Equikoran Land Bridge and the Contests Isles is Bridger Common. Based on the real world language of Spanish, Bridger common is also referred more derogatorily as Bridger Cant by the peoples of The Shayador Empire.

Geographical Distribution

Bridger Common is not a recognized language outside of the Land Bridge and the Contested Isles of the Azure Sea and is spoken almost exclusively within that region. Many Land Bridgers find it so excited to speak their native tongue that it has become common practice for Land Bridgers to only speak to each other in Bridger Common, even outside of their homeland. This practice extends to the point of being rude. For example, if a Land Bridger is speaking with someone of a higher station than themselves, and there is someone nearby in the service of the higher up who speaks Bridger Common, they will only speak in their own language and require their comments to be translated, even if they speak the same language as the person with whom they are conversing.
