These are unique wind instruments that belong to the family of vessel flutes and are characterized by their distinctive shape, typically resembling an elongated egg or a flattened sphere with finger holes and a mouthpiece. Ocarinas are made from a variety of materials including ceramic, clay, plastic, wood, and metal. Much like most items ocarinas can be enchanted with various magical effects.   There are various types of ocarinas, ranging from small pendant ocarinas with a limited range to larger, concert-quality instruments capable of producing a wider range of notes and richer tones. Ocarinas can also vary in shape, with some resembling animals, fruits, or other objects.

History

On Miyla ocarinas are believed to have been created by the Kastal Okeri people who once lived in the chaotic Waves. It is one of the earliest known musical instruments in Miyla.    Some scholars and historians believe that the beautiful music that can be played from ocarinas is one of the reasons why the Nuossa Nualestota Miylian Elder Elves and their Black Shifter Dragon gods known as Fa Geinn enslaved the Kastal.
