Dwarf
Originally found in isolated mountain "kingdoms," a truly staggering stretch of the word, the dwarves tried to remain independent from the rapidly growing human nations but quickly realized they could prosper more through integration. Today, dwarves work and live amongst humans, often owning and managing mines, masons, or quarries, though many groups also follow in their militant ancestors' footsteps. They are the only ancestry with both a natural resistance to Wytchstone and the business sense to exploit it, though even the hardiest of individuals will eventually feel its effects.
Dwarves, for better or worse, typically don't see much difference between themselves and Humans, and are happy to do business with or for them with no injury to their pride. They are unusually close to Ogres, perhaps due to their shared Wytchstone resistance and love for food, though can often see them as beasts of burden due to their short lifespans and perceived dim-wittedness (similar to how a human might treat a beloved workhorse). Dwarves, for some long-forgotten reason, don't seem to trust Elves who, for their part, don't seem to care.
