Wytchbloods
The Wytchbloods are mostly self-governed Dwarves, as they live in inhospitable conditions where only they and Ogres can survive. Deep underground in the Wytchstone Mines, the Dwarves here spend most of their lives in thick, leather and lead suits that would crush a human or an elf but protects them from the toxic gasses and chaotic agents released by the wytchstone. More serious and dour than their surface-dwelling kin, the fact that they still live underground does not mean that their life is similar to those of the ancient Dwarf Lords of old.
Due to the danger of the mines, the Wytchbloods live much shorter lives than others of their ancestry, their skin often taking a gray or "stony" complexion and their eyes glowing with a green-tinted fire. The chaotic agents of the Wytchstone mean they tend to be larger than other Dwarves, with the tallest even rivaling short humans. Their culture is one of hard work and constant dilligance as even the smallest mistake can render a whole section of the mine uninhabitable due to toxic gas at best, or cause a chaotic rupture to occur at worst. Above these mines are located the factories that refine Wytchstone into a more stable varient. Constantly belching blue smoke, the immensly unstable raw Wytchstone is refined here into its "usable" form before being moved throught the lands.
Ruled by a "Consortium" of all the eldest members of each bloodline (male and female alike), their form of government mostly resembles the new merchant republics, though without the steep entry fee.
