Abberations are the dark mirror held up to the world around them. None can exist without first being born a pure thing.
Not a single being with the mantle of Abberation can be slain without some dark criteria being met. Be it a stake through the heart or a test of silver against their necks. All the way to a song sung on the day the moon hides the sun away.
There are few things here that can be mourned for their passing. Yet take heed, all that corruption held within them must go somewhere when they fall.

Abberations in Popculture

Vampires, Werewolves and many classic movie monsters. Anything cruel that once was human but is not any more.

Types of Abberation

Ghouls

The faceless presence in back of the photos and the claws scratching against the floorboards at night. Ghouls are the things that never died. They are beings that feed themselves on the bodies and fears of those around them. Twisting themselves into nightmares in the pursuit of a fulfilling meal.

Wraiths

Souls consumed by the burning fire of vengeance. Few things can match their fury. With the hatred of the strongest spilling into the lands and those around them

Hollows

Stripped of their souls, only what is held in others can fill what they no longer hold. Hollows tend to propagate themselves, with emptiness turning on the spirit of the land itself when nothing else remains.

Noita

When the pursuit of power or some great truth takes over all meaning for Life. Those few who succeed are warped into bastions of dark renown. And the many that don't remain as dessications of life.

Abominations

The grim result of nature warped by overwhelming corruption. Abominations are driven to destroy all those around them.

Ayeliads

What many consider to be progenitors of dark magic. Taking a mix of the traits of all other Abberations and adding many of their own. They soke in all manner of dark magic and feast upon it. These vaults of fell energy cannot die, fall or ever be destroyed; at least not without dire consequences for the world around them.

Garlic, Salt and Silver. Stone for the hearts of ghosts and wood for those who drain.

Symbols against Evil

Abberations are repelled by holy symbols. Anything held with enough belief behind it will work. While heads will fill with images of crosses and orbs. Most people do not realise what brings the love to them until someone tries to take it away.
