The Court of Liberty

Leader- Mimi C, A wild hearted changeling with a passion for freedom. Mimi C refuses to appear the same way twice. Some say she is a singular being while others whisper she is a shared identity passed through generations. Her laughter is contagious and her every word dances between poetry and rebellion. She is Bedlam’s favorite daughter, though both deny it.

Seat of Power- Niqualean

Domain- Freedom in all forms. Physical, political, magical, and emotional. The Court of Liberty fights against stagnation, oppression, and unnecessary structure. They oppose imposed laws and seek to empower individuals to follow their own paths, no matter how chaotic.

Social Structure- The Court is a paradox of chaos with purpose. It is loosely organized in ever-changing circles of influence. Authority comes from action, not title. The Court's operation reflects the freedom-loving aspects of Bedlam, the Fey God of sacred disorder. His influence blesses them with beautiful unpredictability and protective whimsy.

The leadership is fluid. Mimi C is not elected nor crowned, but followed out of love, rage, and inspiration. To join the court, one must be vouched for by at least three members and demonstrate their dedication to freedom through an act of rebellion, truth, or defiance. These acts vary from freeing a large amount of slaves to rejecting a noble title.

Traditions/taboos-

The only true hard rule they have are those related to joining the court, those requiring any member to stand in the face of oppression and where any who commit or abide any tyrannical acts are immediately kicked from the court. What constitutes a tyrannical act is unclear and ever shifting, though one thing they do consider immediate expulsion is if they discover that a member is considered a Noble of the Oligarchy, as they see the nations very structure and a placement in its privileged class enanthema to what they believe in

Maps are frowned upon, as they are seen as attempts to cage the land.

Any member may speak in council, even newly arrived ones, as all are considered equal in the Court

Names are considered fluid in the court. Many members choose new ones regularly, causing much confusion

While not officially forbidden, as almost nothing is in the court as they consider rules abhorrent to the court's purpose, binding deals are heavily frowned upon.

Relations to other Courts-

The Court of Hate: They view the Court as occasional allies in the fight for freedom, at least when the members hate is target towards a symbol of oppression or cruel tyrant, but they also their obsessions a cage in and of itself.

The Court of Wonders: They view this court with extreme suspicion, viewing their commitment to deals and binding contracts as a dangerous and stifling threat

Dealing with the Oligarchy- Few and far between. They have aided escaped serfs and outlaws, even offering them magical means to vanish or change identities. This has drawn the ire of Noble Houses like House Charon and House Gha'ard. It’s rumored The Serf-Pipeline has safehouses maintained by this court.
