Personal history

Helin is one of the most revered leaders in the history of the Kingdom of the Forest. Her diplomatic and military successes are the standard against which all later monarchs are measured. However, she was not as popular during her reign as the people blamed her for the numerous threats they faced regardless of whether she had any control over them or not.
As the second elven monarch to have her successes and failures recorded in writing, Helin knew she would not be able to escape comparisons with her father. Almost as soon as she had taken the throne she was faced with invasion from Trem. The high council had gotten into a habit of debating every issue for weeks in the hope that the problem would go away or be solved by someone else. In this case they were right. In what was to become a feature of her reign, Helin took swift and decisive action, leading a portion of her forces to drive back the invaders and deliver a message to the Emperor of Trem.
When the Greenskin Invasion started the High Council once again elected to spend months debating what should be done. While the debate raged, Helin sent additional forces to the northwestern edge of the forest and quietly arranged for discussions with Clan Magrannor around how they could help each other.
As the invasion progressed and the four lands to the west of the forest continued to fight each other as much as the greenskins, Helin took it upon herself to broker an alliance to deal with the larger threat. Months spent travelling to negotiate in person paid off and the alliance drove back the orc and goblin invaders. While lauded as a saviour by the lands outside of the forest, many in her own country disliked the fact that eles had been sent to defend the short lived races.
Following the end of the invasion Helin's next big contribution was setting up the Grove of Dancing Minds. Impressed by the training given to officers in Trem, Helin created the grove as a place to train her own officers in different aspects of warfare and leadership.
