Jerczar Don Asuga

Once a famed senator from Jaque, Jerczar is the current patriarch of the wealthy Asuga family. He has three children and nine grandchildren, one of whom is the current heir, Hailey.

History

Jerczar Asuga was born in 937 APC as the youngest of three siblings. From a young age, Jerczar was smart and kind, always thinking up new ways to help people. His parents taught him everything they knew about negotiation and diplomacy, their more politically-minded friends assisting with the finer points. With his parents' help, Jerczar was able to find a place working for the Queen of Jaque as an advisor.
At the age of twenty-five, Jerczar was elected as the senator to the IPA. While his career

I won't defend all of the IPA's actions, especially some of their recent ones, but the decree against slavery was one of the best. Probably the best, at this point.

Tired of her brother's being completely oblivious to his crush on her friend Hamilla, Julia Asuga, Jerczar's sister, pushed the two together and within a year they were married. Jerczar only spent a few months home with his wife before he was forced to visit Zenricho for a senate meeting. However, his advice was invaluable in repairing an alliance between

two arguing planets, and his presence was referred to as calming by younger attendees.
When Jerczar returned home, Hamilla announced her pregnancy. A few months later, Desmondia Asuga was born. Jerczar spent a while at home with his family before returning to Zenricho for work. Two years later, in 966 APC, his second daughter, Dellia Asuga, was born. Jerczar then took a year off of work to stay home and help Hamilla. Shortly after Dellia's birth, his aging parents named him their heir because neither of his siblings had married or had children yet.
In 968, the Queen brought a diplomatic mission to Jerczar's attention. Tensions between settlers on Stelsa and the Natives there had been rising for months, recently tipping over into fighting. The IPA wished to send their best negotiators to the Natives to come to an agreement. Jerczar was hesitant to go, as he saw the actions of the settlers as the wrong ones, but the Queen convinced him.

Despite Jerczar's reservations, he performed well on the mission. After meeting with the Natives, Jerczar was able to translate for his group. He learned that the Natives were actually a species called Nir Tivarenul. With his help, a treaty between the Nir Tivarenul and the settlers was agreed on. The Nir Tivarenul took a liking to Jerczar and invited him to visit again whenever he wanted. Jerczar was delighted to be invited back, but upon returning to Jaque he chose to stay

Thanks to the success of the mission, Jerczar gained fame and admiration from people all over the galaxy. On top of his status as a senator, he was granted the honorary title of Diplomatic Hero. Five years after the mission to Stelsa, Jerczar returned to visit his old friends. Many things had changed, but he enjoyed his time. A few years later, he retired from senatorial duties at the age of forty and the Queen allowed him to remain an advisor.
With no major responsibilities, Jerczar spent most of his time at home with his children. He watched them all grow up, get married, and have children. Desmondia was the first to be married, with her son Oro arriving shortly after her marriage. Jerczar and Hamilla's son, Thakth, married young, and Dellia got married last. Although Jerczar loved all his children and grandchildren equally, he became close with Dellia's daughter, Hailey, eventually naming her as his heir.
Recently, Jerczar retired from all jobs except his (now somewhat honorary) position as a palace advisor. Most of his time is spent at home, occasionally leaving to visit his children for holiday parties. His only major plans are to talk up his favorite granddaughter (who was recently appointed Assistant Senator!) to all his old political friends at their next get-together.

The Asuga Homes

As one of the oldest families on Jaque, the Asuga family is incredibly wealthy. Because of this, every family leader takes great pride in the houses they build for family members. Jerczar is no exception to this tradition. Upon becoming the official patriarch of the Asuga line, he commissioned four enormous mansions to gift his children and named them all according to other traditions. He presented them at his children's weddings and kept the fourth, which he called Snowshire, as a family vacation spot. Currently, Desmondia and her family reside at Lockhill, Dellia, her husband, and Hailey live at Greenglen, and Thakth owns Fieldlight with his wife.
