The Poison
Farewell Tears is a potion made of a bright, light blue. Some say that it is made with tears, mixed within the poison to give it its color. When mixed into drinks, it first forms the shape of a teardrop, then dissolving into invisible secrecy in the fluid.
When one ingests Farewell Tears, they begin a slow death. They may yet live for hours, yet soon they will feel their legs giving out, as their body cannot hold their weight. The poison has begun shutting down their nervous system.
The first thing, though, that they will notice is that everyone around them will begin to, uncontrollably, smile.

Not only is everyone smiling, but they may even laugh without knowing the reason. Even as the one poisoned begins to die, their heart ceasing to beat, no one will be able to cry. Their tears evaporate and they laugh due to the gas emitted by the poison.
Dying from Farewell Tears is said to be painful, as one feels their internal organs shutting down. The true pain, though, is watching the loved ones and everyone else witnessing ones death smile and laugh through your death. Some are happy to see those they love not sad in their final moments, though others say it is the worst fate to have the end be laughed at.
Creation
Olmuth Tovull was a Draconian from Tamd who was a skilled alchemist. He grew old on the poison peninsula and knew his death was fast approaching. He feared leaving behind all of the people who had loved him, whom he had loved as well. Tovull had accepted death, but he had not accepted grief.
He spent his final days in his lab, crafting a potion that could make sure no one would cry. The day came, and his family gathered around him. Tovull asked his son a simple request as he cried for his father. He asked to pour the potion into Olmuth's mouth. His son, crying, agreed, and as Tovull began to seize up, he smiled, as he watched everyone around him cease crying and begin to smile.

Tovull's son, Irthak, was inspired from his fathers death. He had made sure not to pour all of the poison into his fathers mouth, as he was curious, and when he witnessed what it did to his father, he knew it was perfect.
Irthak synthesized it further to bring pain, as Olmuth's variation was painless. Then, he fled to
Ealla where he disguised himself as an attendant to the
Village Chief, Shirnan Karish, and poured it into her drink during a great celebration. Karish was a
Bard and got up onstage afterwards to perform a song. However, as she went to strum, she fell forward. As she died atop the stage, she saw all of her people in the audience smiling and laughing. She died believing all of them wanted her to die.
Irthak then began selling it on the black market to assassins, where it started to become a prominent poison that they used on targets they wanted to suffer. Soon, it started to be sold out in the open in Tamd, as the Tamdians had no qualms against selling morally repugnant potions and poisons.
