Hadur's Bathroom

Hadur's Bathroom is the Heavenly Realm of the Dwarven God of Creation, Family, Community, and Beards.

The Hall of Bathrooms

The central chamber of Hadur's Heaven is a hallway that runs down the middle. Walking through the hallway, one is met with seemingly endless doors of unique make and model.

The hall itself is made of stones, neatly placed together to mimic the look of Hadur's temples on Totania. Ancient, echoing chambers that give off as grand an image as they possibly could.   Entering into each room, one can find the individual bathrooms of Hadur, though not all Bathrooms are the traditional sense of a Bathroom.

What is a Bathroom

To Hadur, a bathroom is more than a place that one performs bowel movements in. Of course, it can also be that, and there are some places in his Heaven that are as so.   However, a bathroom, to Hadur, is a place where one can feel free and safe. A place of peace where there is no trouble, no stress. A place where one can let go of all waste and worry. In that sense, Hadur believes that anywhere can be a bathroom, and that is the founding principle of the realm of Hadur's Bathroom.

The Bathrooms

There are too many rooms in Hadur's Bathroom to count. One thing to note about each, however, is that they may have an entrance and exit, but they are not particularly singular rooms. Some can be rooms, some entire buildings, towns, or even an entire sprawling world. It depends on the Angel who resides there or the purpose of the room.

Baby's Bathroom

Said to be the first and most basic of the Bathrooms, the place of the Angel of Birth, Evrir the Holy Fist, is a standard bathroom. Evrir hides in a bucket, where he is comfortable. One can hear screaming and fighting outside of the room, but within, it feels cozy and safe. As if everywhere outside is dangerous, but here, surrounded by a bucket, a window, and stone floors and walls.

Mother's Sewer

Phimne the Holy Spear's area is a sewer, some say it connects all areas of Hadur's Bathroom and runs directly beneath them. Trav Lor, the Halfling who wrote The Realms Above, says that she traveled equally through the hall and the sewer to get around.   Mother's Sewer is overrun with rats, which are said to follow Phimne as if she were their Queen. They listen to her orders and even report back.   Flooding with waste and sewage, this is where all trash in the bathrooms ends up. Trav Lor questioned why Phimne allows this, but her answer was simply:
"I am mother to all, if I did not accept something for being what it was, even if what it was is utter waste, then I as a mother am beneath waste."
— Phimne the Holy Spear

Burning Battlefield and
Fiery Forge

The area of two Angels, the Burning Battlefield and Fiery Forge, known also as BBFF, is a joint land in the Bathrooms.   The Burning Battlefield is a fiery field covered in corpses, where Riklint the Holy Axe, the warrior angel, stands and challenges those who wish for a battle.   The Fiery Forge is the secondary forge of Hadur's Bathroom, after the Divine Forge of Hadur itself. It is where most angellic weapons are made, and the hub of creativity in the Bathrooms. Souls who end up in this Heaven may go there to learn to forge, or if they already know, they may go there to forge.   These places are considered bathrooms for two separate reasons. For one, on a battlefield Hadur says that one should rid themselves of all fears, for the only worry should be whether their weapon connects with its target. Living or dying is not a worry, for that is dependant on that simple fact. The battlefield is also, of course, a place where many void their bowels.   As for a forge, Hadur says it is the one place where all can wield a blade with no fear, but fully relaxed. Even the most anxious individuals may hold the greatest of swords in the midst of a forge.

Hadur

The Forged God, Hadur is the God of Creation, Family, Community, Dwarves, and Beards. He built the planet of Totania itself in his forge, shaping it to perfection.   Hadur watches over all who create, be it weapons or armor as he does, or things of other creative methods like art or children. He preaches that there is nothing more important than ones family, but that a family is not just blood, but also the connections one forms. A community, which he is also God of, is like a family in all but birth.   The God is said to fear the ambition and resourcefulness of Humanity, specifically banning the creation of them as he made his world. When they appeared, he was notably angry towards all other Gods.   He also detests Elves, some say it is because of a hatred for Selene, while others say that it is because he and Selene were once close and something happened between the two of them. Others say they are, perhaps, still close and that the hatred comes only from their followers.

The Forged Angels

Hadur is said to be at least partially responsible for the Proto-Angels, who are the base of most Angels in Heaven. He crafts them personally in his own forge.   His own Angels, known as the Forged Angels, are special. Each represents a moment in the life of a seemingly mortal man. His three top Angels, Vultar, Phimne, and Nonril, represent the three major moments of this man's life.   Vultar the Holy Sword, his Head Angel, represents Love. Phimne the Holy Spear, the second in command, represents Parenthood. Finally, Nonril the Holy Hammer represents the love of the forge. Many say that Nonril's partner, Riklint the Holy Axe, is the third most powerful, but this is a front to cover for Nonril so he may stay in his forge.   There are many more Angels of Hadur, such as Zaernant the Holy Lance, Angel of Adventure, or Evrir the Holy Fist, the Angel of Birth.   To explain the Holy Might of some of these Angels: Vultar's Love Might makes it so any who attack him are frozen until he decides to let them go, while Phimne can make anyone believe she is their mother and, if they would not attack their mother, they will not attack her. Nonril's ability is a game of Shiratori where the words spoken turn to forged objects, while Zaernant can make anything dodge around his body, going on a trip around him rather than reaching its true destination.

Vultar's Home

Vultar the Holy Sword lives in a small home in the middle of nowhere. He lives like a traditional househusband: cooking, cleaning, doing the chores as if he has someone there. He does not, instead living alone solely so he can be around whenever Hadur needs him to perform the duties of the Head Angel. Many, then, call his home an empty place, as no souls are allowed to reside near it.

The Wide World

The Wide World is the home area of Zaernant the Holy Lance, one of the lower ranking angels. It is not, however, just a simple area like the others. It is, instead, an entire sprawling planet, and it is said to generally be the general planet where Hadur's Bathroom is on, giving Zaernant a higher priority than most other weak angels.   It is said that one could spend a lifetime exploring this planet and still find something new, and that is what Zaernant constantly does here alongside any other souls who seek adventure.   The Wide World seems to be like Totania, but it is not Totania. Simply it is a planet that resembles it, though its continents are strange and not shaped like those known by mortals.   Nature is the bathroom of animals, and that is why this is said to be part of Hadur's Bathroom.

The Field of Flowers

Anrien the Holy Flower is the Child Angel, a young boy who resides in a field of flowers. This area represents the innocence of youth and the beauty of untainted nature. As long as a soul resides here (or Anrien himself) and as long as the flowers stand, none can die for they grow again from the flowers.

Glittering Balcony

Oganal the Holy Dagger, an androgynous assassin, rules over this area where the rich who worship Hadur are brought.

The rich who are brought here are brought to an endless cocktail party where they may celebrate to their hearts content, drinking champagne, eating hor d'oeuvres, and making small talk.   There are bathrooms and bedrooms here for those who wish for a break from the party. Also, leaving the fancy room where the party generally is brings one to a balcony overlooking a brilliant city of shining lights in the dark. Some say one can even exit the party and walk the streets of this city, but that they will eventually return to the party.   Oganal is said to sometimes create a duplicate of someone at the party, who the partygoers must seek out for him as a game. Then, the Holy Dagger will kill the duplicate to end the game.   Some say Oganal is terrifying, while others say they are the life of the party. Perhaps there is some common ground between the two things and that is where Oganal the Holy Dagger sits.

The Jazz Lounge

Also known as Jazz Hadur, the Jazz Lounge is a place where the souls of Hadur's Bathroom can relax and listen to Hadur's favorite genre of music: Smooth Jazz. This club has dim red lamps lighting it a bloody shade.   Many question the purpose of this or what it represents. However the answer is fairly simple; Hadur loves jazz and wants the music to be spread to all who can hear it. He is a true connoisseur of the finer arts, which he wants to inspire the creation of in his realm.

Family Chamber

The Family Chamber is the home of Hadur and his family, which is the most important thing to him. His family begins with his wife, a Dwarf who wed him named Anlynn Firekin, a Dwarven hero who went to Heaven and wooed the God Hadur. The two have many Demi-God children who reside here as well, including (from oldest to youngest known):

  • Mordur (Son)
  • Morrak (Son)
  • Lysnip (Daughter)
  • Kathlen (Daughter)
  • Grygrymm (Son)
  • Tyron (Son)
  • Farthran (Son)
  • Germund (Son)
  • Lysnura (Daughter)
  • Bartharn (Son)
  • Raenbera (Daughter)
  • Yankyl (Son)
  • Mystin (Daughter)
  • Dulkyl (Son)
  • Ambek (Son)
There are 16 known children, 11 sons and 5 daughters. Many Dwarves name their children either directly after them or in some way inspired by the names of the Dwarven Demi-Gods, who each have a purpose in Hadur's pantheon.

The Divine Forge

Hadur's forge, this is said to be the most powerful and hottest forge in all of creation, something that only a God could withstand the heat of. Hadur can be found here more often than on his throne, as he loves to craft and create things rather than rule.   Directly next to the forge is an interface that can magically project the image of any Dwarf alive. It is through the forge beside it and these projections that Hadur crafts the Dwarves in his own image, then excited to see how they will grow and change as time goes on. He sees all Dwarves as his, but does not mind when they shift themselves to suit how they view themselves. As he says:
"A blade is the smith's when it is crafted, but the moment it trades hands, it belongs to the warrior, and the only ownership a smith owns is their name engraved into it and the hope that the blade will return to them when its wielder is gone."
— Hadur
Hadur can, if he pleases, use this to do something to the Dwarves. He could kill a Dwarf, heal their injuries, or cause them pain. It is whatever he decides and whomever he decides.

Throne of Creation

Hadur's seat of power, at the very end of the Hall of Bathrooms, it is a giant throne made of shields that Hadur says is:
"For the protection of all who are under my divine light."
— Hadur
He sits atop this throne, speaking to all souls who reach him as if he were their father, comforting them, giving them advice, or helping them in any way he sees fit.

Cultural Impact

The ideal of Hadur and his Heavenly Realm, that all of life is a bathroom where one rids themselves of waste and can feel comfortable with no worries of expectations (the central theme of the plane) has stuck with many, who consider it a comforting message telling them to walk into every situation with the thought of their destination as a bathroom. One they may rush to, but one that when they get there, they can feel at peace. For this, it is said that Dwarves are one of the happiest people when they die, for they know (if they were good and/or followed Hadur) that they will soon reach the Bathrooms.

Mirrors of Hadur

Hadur has crafted a Holy device which can be used to communicate with his Heaven, particularly with him, but also with the souls within the Heaven. This device is a mirror, called the Mirrors of Hadur.   They are fairly common throughout Dwarven Territory, as the Temple of Hadur distributes them to many, not seeing it as a necessarily sacred art. However, it is a very important part of their religion, as it is how they generally communicate with Hadur. The Temple of Hadur is filled with mirrors, and so to is the Bathroom. The Hallway is covered in Mirrors on the walls, and each bathroom has at least one mirror.

Proto-Angels

Proto-Angels, being something that can be found in most Heavenly Realms, have been spotted by some scarce few who have returned from Heaven. Due to this, many conflate them with the origins of all Angels, and they are considered the base of all Angels, even though it is possible for a mortal to become an Angel through Holy Might.
