Sylvanas Windrunner Character in Toriel | World Anvil

Sylvanas Windrunner

Sylvanas was the Queen of Lórien, whose leadership acumen and martial prowess were without equal.

Characteristics

Physical features

Sylvanas had waist-length blonde hair that "flowed like water" and was "translucent in the light of the sun". She took great pride in her appearance: It wasn't good enough to be the best hunter in her family. She needed to take everyone's breath away as she ventured out. She was so very vain. Her eyes were "more gray than green or blue." Even by high elven standards, the second of the three Windrunner sisters had been a rare beauty. Lords from countless noble houses had sought her hand.

Mental traits

Sylvanas was a prodigious ranger, proud and vain—and pragmatic. She was also of the opinion that Lórien would do well to coexist with the other races of the world, and to practice tolerance.

History

Sylvanas was a member of the prominent Windrunner family of high elves. Sylvanas was the middle sister between the oldest sister Alleria Windrunner, and the youngest sister Vereesa Windrunner. Sylvanas was trained to become the ranger general and eventually became the Queen of Lórien, succeeding her mother Lireesa.   Prior to the Orc War, Sylvanas earned a reputation as a fearless and cunning ranger. During the Orc War, her parents died, ambushed by orcs, and Sylvanas was given the title of Queen of Lórien as her elder sister refused to inherit it.   With the death of her mother by the hand of Gul'dan, warlock and leader of the orcish horde, Sylvanas called upon the dragons of the Golden Five, calling upon their help to end this war and to avenge her dead mother.   But Kueli, who answered the call, refused to help a cycle of endless vengeance that would only bring war and destruction to Toriel.
