Description
The domain of dread encompass the capital of Eldrida, Rin and its surrounding.
Bright Barge Dock. Rin was once a thriving coastal city, its harbors bustling with life and trade. Now, dark and cursed waters lap against its decaying docks, trapping the souls of those who dare to flee the Domain of Dread by sea.
Amid this gloom, one haven remains: The Haunted Keg. Perched at the edge of the rotting dock, this weathered tavern serves as one of the few safe oases in the domain.
Castle of Frozen Tears. King
Adelbern the arch
Wraith rules a court of shades. The castle itself is made of finely worked blue-white stone, luminous over the plains.
Society
Ghosts of Rin
Some rare ghosts partially escaped the curse, allowing them a semblance of free will.

4 | The Drowned Man. Tangled in kelp and bits of net, he walks the streets, perpetually leaving a damp trail. If given a small sacrifice (spilled drink, bit of smoke or incense), he tells tales of the dark, ebon sea and the riverboats... and of a treasure he buried with his crew, long ago. |

History
Adelbern was an heir of king Duric, the half
Dragon and inheritor of the first Dragon King and the ruler of the
Kingdom of Eldrida. During a time when
Magic was rare, the kingdom oppressed spellcasters. However, the balance of power shifted dramatically when the
Nexus Overflow occurred, leading to an uncontrollable civil war that ultimately led to the kingdom's self-destruction.
In 3042 BD, Adelbern plunged his sword into the ground, channeling the power of an artifact to spread his will and unleash a curse known as the Foefire upon the land. The Foefire was a desperate act by Adelbern as revolutionary forces were storming the capital city. Although a group of infiltrators from the revolution had intended to kill Adelbern, they instead encountered his servant, Savione, who warned them of the king's madness and his plan. Despite the warning, the revolution proceeded with their attack. The capital city was overrun, and as soldiers attempted to retreat, Adelbern unleashed the Foefire. The result was the
Death of the revolutionaries and the complete annihilation of every
Human in the city. Their bodies were destroyed, and their souls were cursed to forever "protect" the land, perceiving any living being as a threat and constantly reforming themselves after destruction.
Adelbern's decision to not only eliminate the revolutionaries but also to curse the land itself was a fateful and horrifying choice. He chose to sacrifice his own people rather than let them escape. This curse consumed Adelbern's soul, transforming him into an arch wraith, and turning the capital city into a realm of darkness known as a Domain of Dread.
