Haunted Keg

Located within the cursed Foefire Domain of Dread, this inn stands as a unique haven amidst ceaseless spectral turmoil. It has a history that predates the domain's curse, once serving as a refuge for adventurers who now linger as benevolent ghosts. In this eerie realm of perpetual conflict, the inn offers respite and solace, and it's said that those who enjoy their final ale within these walls find themselves welcomed as eternal patrons of the Haunted Keg.

Description

The tavern is a neat wooden structure that blend in perfectly in the busy ghost town. It provides a comforting sight as one approaches.   Inside the tavern is simple and comfortable, with little in the way of entertainment or fancy amenties. It has a very homey atmosphere. Guest rooms are upstairs: all identical in furnishing and decor, and frankly, rather unremarkable in and of themselves. The first floor consist of a dining room, a library (stocked mainly with books about the local geography and dungeons, and journals of famous adventurers) an amazingly well-equiped kitchen, and a small reception area.

A. Ground Floor

A1. Dining Room

Upon entering the Haunteg Keg, the first sigh that draw everyone's eye is the bartender, Bob. At 8ft tall, he dominates the room, albeit silently.   There is a door behind the bar leading to the kitchen, as well as a pss-through window for orders. Through that windowm one can glimpse the inner working of the kitchen.

A2. Library

The main draw of the haunted keg, other than the haven of safety, is the extensive library available to its patrons. Even though is is fairly small it boasts an impressive collection of tomes about the regions, local dungeons and adventurers, but talk of a long gone era.   A DC 12 intelligence (Investigation) check will reveal a keyhole in one of the bookshelves. It can be opened with a DC 20 dexterity (thieves' Tools) check.

A3. Secret Library

Hidden behind a bookshelf in the main library is a secret annex library. At first glance, it seems very similar to the main library and one might wonder why it is hidden. There is one shelf with a set of journals, all handwritten in a vaguely elvish script style, and all dated quite recently. A DC 14 intelligence (Investigation) check deduces that these were written by someone who zorks in the tavern, and is compilling informations to aid in attacking the archwraith.

A4. Kitchen

The tavern kitchen was a model of culinary excellence. One may enter if they ask the bartender bob for drinks or food. By far the largest room in the inn, save the dinning area, the kitchen is filled with every cooking appliance and tool known to the living or the dead. A convenient pass-through window that looks out at one end of the bar allows serving food. One end of the kitchen is dedicated to a massive pantry with anything a humanoid might want to eat.

Restroom

The restroom facilites at the Haunted keg are a basic ourhouse just outside the main building, or a chamber pot in each guest room. Not fancy, but kept clan by the ghosts housekeeping staff, who fortunately cannot smell of become ill.

B. Second Floor

B1. Hallway

Via stairs that go up and over the orientation room on the first floor, overnight guests may ascend to the second floor. The stairs open up into a neat, quiet hallway that has a faint whiff of decay, stronger here than on the lower floors. It is not quite enough to disturb those in need of a night's rest, though. But there are other factors that can affect a person's sleep.

B2. Deluxe Guest Room

One of the nicer rooms available at the Haunted Keg, this room has slightly more elegant decor. The furnishing appear to be elvish in design, and the bedding and upholstery are rich, almost more fitted to a zealthy home than a modest tavern.

B3, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8. Empty Guest Rooms

These rooms are empty and available for character who wish to spend the night. Everything is basic, clean and appears comfortable at first. Yet anyone who sleeps here will not wake feeling as rested as they might otherwise. For every night spent in a guest room, creatures must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or wake up with their maximum hit point reduced by 1.
