Akhator Baltazar

Akhator Baltazar was a powerful wizard that created Holypertuis's maze-like sewer and the undercity. He later turned into a lich to try and extend his lifespan.

History

Akhator Baltazar was a powerful transmutation wizard, known as the grand architect, he was a pioneer in the democratization of transmutation magic for construction. Architect of numerous great structures in Tana's empire, he was tasked with the water management structure of Holypertuis, the city, built on a holy spring. Participating in the aqueduct project, his main task was with the city's sewer, a system to collect the dirty water, and keep the city clean, an invention close in genius and technologies to the latest gnomish trick.
Creating a maze of conduits, corridors, and water paths under the city, Baltazar quickly realized the city's secret. It is built on the skeleton of a gold dragon. The skeleton's magical properties making the water holy and forming an enormous cavity under the city. Amazed by his discovery, he started the construction of an underground city, a place for those banned from the surface, for traffic, counterfeit and black market. Thanks to that, he gained immense wealth and became known as the king under the city.

An heir for the king

Among the citizen of this hidden city, was a young girl, lost yet incredibly talented: Irina. Son of Flo Stormcri. Akhator grow to like the little girl as his daughter and adopted her. A choice that revealed to be wise, as the young girl was gifted, quickly becoming known in the undercity for her skill and feat.

Lichdom

But, as the year went on, the only thing the wizard couldn't rule over was coming to bite him, time. Beloved by the people of the undercity, and eager to stay in this comfortable position, the architect looked into ways of obtaining more time or elongating his life. With access to forbidden knowledge with the black market, he got his hand on a study about lichdom, and started the transformation process.
Creating a fact cult who kidnaped spell caster and half breed in order to get more soul, using their body, and raising them for the soldiers of his undercity. He grows stronger and closer to his goal of eternal life, but the closer he was getting to his goal, the more this dark magic was influencing his mind. Soon, the cult kidnapping those people was wanted, and adventurers started to tail him indirectly.
Unfortunately for the wizard, a group of adventurers, Composed of Flo, Nesiven, Hardah, and Sharla tracked him down, discovering his secret, and confronted him. The battle was hard, and the life of the adventurer was on the line, but they ultimately managed to kill him, freeing the city from the lich killing its citizen.
