Mr Tetcheri's Price

General Summary

The intention for the five children of Corby's Landing was for them to attend the Imperial University, though their childhood mentor, Arturo Mikaelian, did suggest some alternative options for them. Upon the fifth year of the children's absence, they were due to return, but only three of the five had even made it to Karine.
  • Sticken Carroc had attended the College of Arts, proving himself a virtuoso playwright and percussionist (in no small part due to selling his soul to a devilish teacher). He was somewhat of a socialite and a dilettante of studies and interests, attending seminars and lectures in disguise to satiate his hunger for knowledge.
  • Tristan Osric had attended the College of Statescraft, and had barely achieved a passing grade with help from Sticken, who took Tristan's final exam in his place. Tristan and Sticken returned home when expected by boat, paid for by Mayor Alfred Osric.
  • Tilly Yllastin-Daughter Florian attending the Ecclesiastical school in the Cathedral of Saint Danilo to become a battle cleric of The Church of the Warm Embrace. She was very devoted to her study, training her mind and body diligently in service of The One Light. She graduated and was given armaments and a horse by the church in order to spread the good word on her way south.
  • Copper Alitur was first to seek her own path, travelling by herself as a vagrant to the legendary Halls of Thrynos. There she was cared for by Elder Baruch Gendar for a year. She cleaned and cooked and learned of the holy place, and its significance to those of the Path of Ancients. She eventually agreed to join and be trained by Wingskal Clan. They taught her to hunt, and fight, and eventually they blooded her as one of their own. Copper fled this life to return to Corby's Landing, and has not looked back since.
  • Corus Tetcheri was the most swayed by the words of Arturo, and combined with a growing apprehension the nearer they got to the giant capital, he also chose to seek a different path. He head north east around the heart lake to the The Ruins of Skinthrex. He presented himself to Batuga, a legendary swamp witch of unknown origins and powers. Amused, she gave the boy tasks that served her and steeled him. He lived on the hill in the hidden village of Gullykin amongst the resident gnomes and pixies. He left of his own accord after several years to return home of his own volition. He rented a horse from The Clasp, and rode along the Onju Road to return home.
Their return home was met with concern as the town seemed to be experiencing some kind of sickness that medicine had no effect on. Several people became sick, but none more than Noori Tetcheri, Corus' father. Noori's infection developed far more severely, and after several days, the decision was made to amputate his legs. He was in recovery upon Corus' return. Corus, Sticken, Copper and Tilly reunited, and took it upon themselves to investigate the situation. What they discovered was that the illnesses in town were twofold. First, several people had gotten sick from eating apples that Crofter Harken Corby had poisoned, and secondly, Noori had been poisoned by Harken to throw suspicion off of his apples.   Corby had done this in allegiance with the Landless Men, and The Fallowdale Mottleskins, in an effort to poison Baron Alecto Bedegar.   The 4 children managed to chase down the apple cart and defeat the goblins and humans who guarded it, and in the process, Copper revealed her lycanthropic nature to her friends.
